PawHide reads the structure and visible content of the webpage only when needed to let you select and hide an item. It stores website addresses, element selectors, rule names, enabled states, appearance preferences, and a limited structural page-type fingerprint locally on your device so saved hiding rules can be applied again. Page-type fingerprints contain semantic metadata and semantic parent-child relationships; they do not contain names, post text, images, generic element counts, or complete page HTML.
PawHide does not transmit this information to the developer or third parties. It does not use analytics, advertising, tracking, accounts, or remote code. You can delete individual rules or all rules for a website from the extension interface. Removing the extension deletes data managed by the browser according to the browser's normal extension-removal behavior.
Website access is requested only after you use PawHide on a site. PawHide uses that access solely to provide its visible element-selection, hiding, editing, and restoration features.
PawHide's use of information received from Chrome APIs adheres to the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy, including its Limited Use requirements.
Questions about this policy can be submitted through the support channel on PawHide's Chrome Web Store listing.
