Paula Wallace, PhD

Educational Technologist, Instructional Designer, Grant Director, Teacher (Education, Education Technology, Business Information Systems, and Sociology), Assessment Coordinator, College Advisor and Associate Superintendent. 

Paula Wallace is an educational technologist who assists schools and universities to identify and adopt hardware and software systems that best support today’s teaching to prepare students for their future. She has spent seventeen years working in the educational technology fields of online learning, blended learning, technology supported traditional learning, digital assessment, data collection and analysis, educational technology research and teacher training. She has also been a federal grant director (principal investigator), reporting agent, and grant writer. 

At the university level, Paula has been instrumental in the creation of online learning and teacher training programs. She has developed new online degree programs in educational technology and gaming, as well as, converting degree programs to the online medium. She has helped secure and has managed millions of dollars in federal grants whose objectives are educational technology related. She has helped guide a public school district through learning management system adoption and deployment. Paula  has guided the public school district she works for in the develop a digital assessment program, which implements the use of decision driven data analysis (Wiliams, 2016) to drive instructional practices.  

She holds a doctorate degree in curriculum and instruction with an emphasis in learning technologies, is a certified Blackboard© trainer, and a LERN© certified online instructor. Since earning her PhD in 2015,  she has completed certifications for teaching sociology at the college level, public education administrative leadership and has earned a TESOL endorsement. She holds a level 3 administrator license with the New Mexico Public Education Department. 

Since 2014, Paula has been working full-time as a director of federal programs/testing coordinator/LMS administrator, most recently accepting the responsibilities of associate superintendent for Loving Municipal Schools in Loving, NM where her biggest challenge has been redirection of the bilingual program. She has been adjunct teaching for seventeen years for New Mexico State University, New Mexico Junior College and Sul Ross State University and considers it her passion. She currently teaches adjunct for Sul Ross State University in the M.Ed, Educational Instructional Technology graduate program

Paula has extensive experience conducting in-person and online professional development workshops, and has presented at local, state, national, and international conferences on the topics of educational technology, software systems, instructional design, and grant reporting.  

In her professional life, Paula is dedicated to the continuous improvement of teaching and learning. Her hope is to develop students to be life-long learners. In her personal life, she lives by the philosophy that "life is a really short trip so pack in all the love and experiences you can to make it an AWESOME journey".
