The 82nd Airborne Division is an airborne infantry division of the United States Army, specializing in parachute assault operations into denied areas with a U.S. Department of Defense requirement to "respond to crisis contingencies anywhere in the world within 18 hours." Based at Fort Bragg, North Carolina, the 82nd Airborne Division is part of the XVIII Airborne Corps. The 82nd Airborne Division is the U.S. Army's most strategically mobile division. Some journalists have reported that the 82nd Airborne is the best trained light infantry division in the world.More recently, the 82nd Airborne has been conducting operations in Iraq, advising and assisting Iraqi Security Forces.
The All American division was constituted, originally as the 82nd Division, in the National Army on 5 August 1917, shortly after the American entry into World War I. It was organized on 25 August 1917, at Camp Gordon, Georgia and later served with distinction on the Western Front in the final months of World War I. Since its initial members came from all 48 states, the division acquired the nickname All-American, which is the basis for its famed "AA" shoulder patch. The division later served in World War II where, in August 1942, it was reconstituted as the first airborne division of the U.S. Army and fought in numerous campaigns during the war.
On 15 August 1942, the 82nd Infantry Division became the Army's first airborne division, and was re-designated the 82nd Airborne Division. In April 1943, its paratroopers deployed to North Africa to participate in the campaign to invade Italy. The Division's first two combat operations were parachute assaults into Sicily on 9 July and Salerno on 13 September. The initial assault on Sicily, by the 505th Parachute Infantry Regiment, was the first regimental-sized combat parachute assault conducted by the United States Army.
The 82nd Division was re-designated on 13 February 1942 during World War II, just two months after the Japanese attack on Pearl Harbor and the German declaration of war, as Division Headquarters, 82nd Division. It was recalled to active service on 25 March 1942, and reorganized at Camp Claiborne, Louisiana, under the command of Major General Omar Bradley. During this training period, the division brought together four officers who would ultimately steer the U.S. Army during the following two decades: Matthew Ridgway, Matthew D. Query, James M. Gavin, and Maxwell D. Taylor.
On 15 August 1942, the 82nd Infantry Division, now commanded by Major General Ridgway, became the first airborne division in the history of the U.S. Army, and was re-designated as the 82nd Airborne Division. The division initially consisted of the 325th, 326th and 327th Infantry Regiments, and supporting units. The 327th was soon transferred to help form the 101st Airborne Division and was replaced by the 504th Parachute Infantry Regiment, leaving the division with two regiments of glider infantry and one of parachute infantry. In February 1943 the division received another change when the 326th was later transferred, being replaced by the 505th Parachute Infantry Regiment, under James M. Gavin, then a colonel, who was later destined to command the division.
Throughout the years since World War II the 82nd Airborne Division has taken part in every conflict America has had. The men and women of today's 82nd Airborne Division are arguably the best trained, the most well equipped and the most motivated and intelligent paratroopers in history. This print highlights today's Paratrooper and the commitment they have shown over the Nations most recent conflicts.

Enhancements I’ve made since picking up my Patriotic RV 12/2018.
Interior:
• Replaced all incandescent light and reading bulbs with LED - Provides better lighting and saves battery power. Source: Amazon
• Added 1/4" Black Edge Trim Lok (Camper Trailer RV Seal Lock Vinyl) to the 1/4" birch wood wall edges for a more finished look. Vendor: EBay.
• Relocated the stove's propane gas line from on top of the counter, to underneath the stove by adding a gas extension line. I now have 4 of the small propane canisters underneath.
• Installed several "3M Command Strip" hangers for various items.
• Installed several clear plastic storage bins for food items in kitchen areas.
• Placed inside the two interior storage hatches (underneath the queen-size bed): 2-room Instant Shower/Utility/Toilet Shelter; 4 chock blocks; AC/Heater connector tubes; folding kitchen table; portable toilet; tool box kit; stabilizer jack handle; poncho liner; grounded extension cord; torque wrench; LED light bars; RV mat.
• Installed wired AC/Heater thermostat to interior bedroom wall (supplements the wireless remote control). Vendor: ClimateRight.com
• Added additional weather stripping to doors and related areas to ensure weather-tight environment.
• Placed an RTIC 20 Tan cooler under stove. I elected a cooler in lieu of a min-fridge in case I'm without 110v AC or when off-grid. Purchased reduced-price during RTIC's after-Christmas sale. Source: RTIC.com.
• Installed side-wall mounted 14" Digital TV which has a rechargeable battery or can be 12 v. powered. By adding an Apple Lightning to Digital AV Adapter, I can stream Netflix, Prime Video, SlingBox DirecTV, or other video sources via my iPhone and displayed onto the TV. The TV also shipped with a small ATSC antenna (for local channel reception), which I concealed behind the inside wall trim. Vendor: Amazon.com.
• Fabricated a bug window screen, for the back window which louvers open, encompassing Hook-Pile Tape (Velcro) making the screen removable. Vendors: Lowe's Home Improvement and Amazon.com.
Exterior:
• Installed a Wi-Fi wireless backup camera, just above the license plate frame; power connection made to the license plate wiring on the lower back door. Not only can I use the backup monitor while backing up, but wired it "always on" so I can see what's going on behind the RV while driving. Vendor: Amazon.com.
• Added a marine-grade latch to the lower back door to keep the fit tighter and prevents the two doors from "flying open" on their own. Vendor: Amazon.com
• Added two Velcro straps to assist with keeping the portable AC/heat unit stable while towing.
• Installed various patriotic and military graphics, primarily on the windows, and two side panels. On the windows, the graphics are a 50/50% perforated laminate which allows you to see out of the windows from the inside of the camper, but blocks most of the interior view from outside. Vendor: Banners.com and Accentimaging.com. "In the Footsteps of Heroes" painting used with permission by the artist, Phil Pierce.
• Installed DOT reflective strips and red 12v LED strips for additional safety during night driving. Source: Amazon.com
• Added two commercial weather/tamper resistant GFCI outlets. They are installed on both sides of the RV, hidden underneath the aluminum frame. This allows connecting to 110v devices from outside, when plugged-into 15 amp shore power at an RV site. Vendor: Lowe's Home Improvement.
Here's the general features I received:
Fiberglass body and bumpers; Choice of body color (Red/White/Blue); Aluminum chassis; 7-Pin Wiring Harness; 3500 lb Spring idler axle; 1 Stabilizer scissor Jack; 1 Tongue Jack; Coupler 3” coupler needs a 2” ball. 2 Bias tires with Moon caps; Refectix Insulation; Black coin flooring; 8 acrylic cast windows; the weight of my Patriotic Army RV is approximately 1,100 lbs. (The 2016 and beyond Toyota Prius can tow up to 1,600 lbs. GWT).
SLEEPER + KITCHENETTE: Custom queen-sized mattress; 30 amp Power Center; Group 24 marine battery; 30 amp - 110 v Shore Power hook-up; Off-the-grid power solar panel mounted on roof.
2-burner propane stove with cover.
Space for a roll-out cooler or fridge (I have an RTIC cooler in lieu of the optional portable 110 v fridge); 5 or 10 gallons of fresh water.
Flojet 12v water pump system; sink with controlled faucet.
