K-12 Project Summary
My project for my K-12 principalship was to create a tier one digital folder for all teachers. I decided to do this project because as a new staff member of Eagle Heights Spanish Immersion, it was hard to find the tier one visuals, expectations, and procedures already implemented throughout the building. I was able find many of the tier one materials within the congested shared drive(s). I was also able to create and implement more tier one initiatives for school wide behavior and celebration. My goal was to have these materials ready for new teachers so they can be prepared on the first day of school to be the best for the students they are impacting. Below are some of the materials that are now in the drive for new teachers.Â
Project 2
My secondary project for my K-12 principalship was to construct a suicide risk assessment to present to the Special Services department in the Eden Prairie School district. The Special Services department has been working on aligning this process across schools in the district. The middle school and high school have the highest need for a specific protocol when crisis arise around student mental health and thoughts of self harm. This is a simple questionnaire that meant to be done with two professionals in the school, preferably counselors and/or social workers. The final part of the form includes a personal safety plan completed with the student as well as a call home to inform guardians of possible concerns. Also, administrators are informed before signing the form. This process is designed to include everyone that supports the student in need.
