Understanding the Interaction between Gender and Game Based Learning Instruments
Several learning instruments including an educational game, gamificiation, social network site and gamified social network site were tested with a group of undergraduates in an introductory digital learning course. The learning instruments were successful in facilitating learning however, an interaction was found with gender. We found patterns of effects such that males performed better at post-assessment when using the gamification and social gamification interventions.
