Pathways to Hazard Resilience

What is resilience? How do we incorporate it into our planning, projects and programs? What resources does the state have that can help me? If you’ve asked these questions, this event might be for you!

The South Carolina Office of Resilience (SCOR) will host an informational event in an area near you to talk with representatives from local and regional agencies and organizations about strategies to implement resilience in their communities to mitigate risks from flooding and other extreme weather events.

The meetings will provide an opportunity for local government officials to meet SCOR staff and learn more about the recently released Statewide Resilience Plan, the history and mission of SCOR, and how the plan can assist local governments. The plan is intended to serve as a framework to guide investment in flood mitigation projects and the adoption of programs and policies to protect the people and property of South Carolina from the damage and destruction of extreme weather events. With the release of the plan, SCOR seeks to further statewide resilience efforts by coordinating at the federal, state and local level.
