We have all read the account of Y’shua riding into Yerushalaiym on a donkey: Zechariah 9:9 9Rejoice greatly, Daughter Tsion! Shout, Daughter Yerushalayim! See, your king comes to you, righteous and victorious, lowly and riding on a donkey, on a colt, the foal of a donkey.
Oh, wait sorry, I meant Matthew 21:1-9 And when they drew nigh unto Yerushalaiym, and were come to Bethphage, unto the mount of Olives, then sent Y’shua two disciples,
2 Saying unto them, Go into the village over against you, and straightway ye shall find an ass tied, and a colt with her: loose them, and bring them unto me.
3 And if any man say ought unto you, ye shall say, Yahuah hath need of them; and straightway he will send them.
4 All this was done, that it might be fulfilled which was spoken by the prophet, saying,
5 Tell ye the daughter of Tsion, Behold, thy King cometh unto thee, meek, and sitting upon an ass, and a colt the foal of an ass.
6 And the disciples went, and did as Y’shua commanded them,
7 And brought the ass, and the colt, and put on them their clothes, and they set him thereon.
8 And a very great multitude spread their garments in the way; others cut down branches from the trees, and strawed them in the way.
9 And the multitudes that went before, and that followed, cried, saying, Hosanna to the son of D’vid: Blessed is he that cometh in the name of Yahuah; Hosanna in the highest.
Did you ever wonder why this multitude just happened to out in the fields that day at that time? Moshe can offer some guidance:
Shemoth (Exodus) 12:3 Speak ye unto all the congregation of Yisrah-el’, saying, In the tenth day of this month they shall take to them every man a lamb, according to the house of their fathers, a lamb for an house:
Of course, in following the Pesach guidelines perfectly Y’shau, our sacrificial lamb rode, into Yerushalaiym on the 10th day of Nisan, at the exact moment everyone was in the field selecting their perfect male spotless lamb for the coming sacrifice and feast. He could have come on no other day.
Who can forget Y’shua’s classic line about the stones speaking.
Luke 19:39-40 And some of the Pharisees from among the multitude said unto him, Master, rebuke thy disciples.
40 And he answered and said unto them, I tell you that, if these should hold their peace, the stones would immediately cry out.
That would be quite a sight, the stones attesting to who Y’shua really was. We know Y’shau traveled to Yerushalaiym that day from the Galilee, to Jericho, Bethphage, to the Mount of Olives. Why all the exact info about Y’shua’s movements prior to entering the city? Perhaps to tell us something. Let me have Yahusha (Joshua) tell you directly.
Yahusha 4:1-9 And it came to pass, when all the people were clean passed over Yordan, that Yahuah spake unto Yahusha, saying,
2 Take you twelve men out of the people, out of every tribe a man,
3 And command ye them, saying, Take you hence out of the midst of Yordan, out of the place where the priests' feet stood firm, twelve stones, and ye shall carry them over with you, and leave them in the lodging place, where ye shall lodge this night.
4 Then Yahusha called the twelve men, whom he had prepared of the children of Yisrah-el’, out of every tribe a man:
5 And Yahusha said unto them, Pass over before the ark of YHVH your Elohiym into the midst of Yordan, and take you up every man of you a stone upon his shoulder, according unto the number of the tribes of the children of iYisrah-el’:
6 That this may be a sign among you, that when your children ask their fathers in time to come, saying, What mean ye by these stones?
7 Then ye shall answer them, That the waters of Yordan were cut off before the ark of the covenant of YHVH; when it passed over Yordan, the waters of Yordan were cut off: and these stones shall be for a memorial unto the children of Yisrah-el’ for ever.
8 And the children of Yisrah-el’ did so as Yahusha commanded, and took up twelve stones out of the midst of Yordan, as Yahuah spake unto Yahusha, according to the number of the tribes of the children of Yisrah-el’, and carried them over with them unto the place where they lodged, and laid them down there.
9 And Yahusha set up twelve stones in the midst of Yordan, in the place where the feet of the priests which bare the ark of the covenant stood: and they are there unto this day.
I believe that these were the stones Y’shau was talking about, in all probability He had walked past them just a few miles before, and these stones do indeed cry out about the Pesach sacrifice, about the Messiah, about the peoples salvation from death under the water of the Yordan and the Red Sea and in Egypt. It speaks of YHVH’s children entering the Promised Land, the same Y’shua came to promise, it speaks of all the children of Yisrah-el’, the Yehudiym like Yahusha, and a gentile like Caleb.
The word stone used in these verses is eh-ben’ Aleph Bet Nun אנב and many see a contraction of two words here, the Aleph Bet אנ is AB the father, you know ABBA. And the Bet Nun נב in BN ben is the son. Hebrew has half a dozen words translated into English as stone or rock, and each describes a different type of use of the stone or rock, but this word eh-ben’ can be seen as the Father/Son. The name Yahusha ישועש is from the Hebrew word for salvation יהושע . These were no ordinary river rocks, and to think they might have cried out is clearly seen, now that you know the story.
I find it amazing how much of Second Testament Scripture takes place in the shadow of one of the Feasts, and I find it disheartening how many 21st century American Christians miss all of it because they believe they are not grafted into the natural tree, and the these “Feast things” are only for “those people”. Y’shua and YHVH are clearly seen in all of the Feasts of YHVH, and it is a tragedy to miss it.
