Chava (Eve) and Daniy-el”? That might seem like an odd Pesach tie in. Stay with me here. Chava is well known for many things, the first women, the only living creature not made from the dirt of the Earth, the first wife, mother of Hav-el’ (Able) and Kah-yin’ (Cain), but I suspect she might be best known for eating of that apple.
OK we know it was not an apple, per se, the act was one of spiritual rebellion against YHVH. Was she mislead or willfully rebelling? Most would agree she was simply misled, but YHVH cannot co-exist with even that kind of rebellion and the rest of the Book both First and Second Testaments chronicles the intriguing path YHVH takes in restoring Aw-dawm’and Chava and their descendants.
B’rey-sheeth’ (Genesis) 2:17 records YHVH's command to Aw-dawm ... but of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil you shall not eat. for in the day you eat thereof, you shall surely die. A little later in B’ray-sheeth’ 3:4 we read the serpent disguised as a politician, university professor, church leader, or celebrity, we are not sure which, said to Eve "you shall surely not die" if you eat of the that tree. We know how that went; Chava, Aw-dawm’ am and most of us as well are more than ready to abandon YHVH’s Word and commands in favor of man's wisdom and promises (lies) almost any time and for very little in exchange, like a Cadbury egg or a chocolate bunny with big ears.
That is how the enemy operates to this day. He will appear as someone with great flowing words and a nice look, perhaps a news broadcaster, politician, or university instructor, to assure us that what YHVH said, is not really what He meant, things have changed don't ya know. While we look at Chava sort of sideways, thinking how dumb was she? We are not any smarter. Our actions are often the same; we take the chocolate egg.
Daniy-el’ 7:25 is describing the enemy of YHVH to us his future readers and offering input on how to discern him. One tip Daniy-el’ provides is ..."he shall think to change the times and laws". Times here is the Hebrew word zem-awn' זמן or appointed occasion and the word translated as laws in this verse is not to-rah’ but daw-at דח meaning a direct verbal command.
We, as decedents of Aw-dawm’ and Chava, have both the knowledge and direct command of YHVY as contained in His written instructions, and are told more than 300 times to "obey My commandments". Seems simple enough. We can compare the things we know and read with the instructions given to us by the world.
YHVH’s Word tells us to celebrate the Feasts of YHVH, for instance Pesach is always on the 14th of Nisan, and the Scriptures are very clear, we are to celebrate them from generation to generation forever, four times in just chapter 12 of Shemoth (Exodus). When someone dressed as a paragon of intellect and trust tells us that is not really what YHVH meant, He really was talking about Easter, and we should move the celebration from the 14th of Nisan to the first Sunday after the first Friday, after Spring Equinox after March 21st, most of the time, and change the name to reflect a more diverse crowd. It might give anyone who has ever read the first 3 chapters of the Book of Beginnings, B’ray-sheeth’ pause.
But certainly solid Bible believing, tithing, 21st century American denominational churchgoers would never be fooled. They receive solid teaching every Sunday, right? Ya’ know the day after the Sabbath we are supposed to keep holy.
The Biblical description of a Priests/Pastors job is to teach the people to discern between the holy and the profane, so they must know the truth that we can’t get by simply reading the Words of YHVH.
The emperor Constantine was a huge anti Semite, and he hated the people of YHVH. He and his new church first asked, then requested, and finally threatened under penalty of death, that followers of Yahuah reject the Pesach and the rest of the Feasts of YHVH and instead celebrate Easter and Christmas. And lets face it, chocolate covered peanut butter eggs taste a lot better than lamb chops and unleavened bread, if we can overlook the somewhat reduced spiritual calorie count of the egg.
Today your pastor is unlikely to burn you at the stake, so why do most who claim to follow YHVH choose not to celebrate in the way He asked, rather than follow the instructions of YHVH still printed in their Bibles? I blame the Cadbury bunny.
We report, you decide.
