WHERE COMMUNITY & ART CONNECT

Thank you for your interest in Pasifika First Fridays. Due to the global health crisis, we will not be opening any 2021 application for new artists. We expect to resume our regular program schedule in fall 2021; please check our website in April for updates regarding the Summer 2021 festivities. We wish you the very best during this difficult period, and hope that you remain safe and healthy.

Who We Are

We're creators, makers, innovators and disrupters. As independent artists, we are proud to connect community to our work and space every first Friday of the month. Salt Lake City is home base and you can find our work across the Wasatch Front in the most forward thinking museums, businesses, restaurants, and cultural hubs.

What We Do

As an art collective we highlight, celebrate, and showcase local talent every first Friday of the month.

As a roving, "pop-up" art space, PFF is organized and driven by community artists working together to bring unique experiences to Utah residents. Simply put, we provide a platform to showcase our community's art, stories, and talent.

What We Stand For

We create a space where connection, support, and community thrive.

As the fastest growing population in Utah, Pacific Islanders enrich the diversity and uniqueness of Salt Lake City. Pasifika First Fridays aims to celebrate and enrich the lives of citizens through arts by providing opportunities in a safe and supportive environment. Our goal is to provide a platform for our Pacific Islander artists to express themselves...whatever medium that takes.

Our Team

PFF is led and curated by a collective of Pacific Islander creators based in Utah. Through their collective art experience and years of community service, the team of independent artists organize curatorial, design work, dissemination, recruitment, and organizing each month.

Our Story

As one of the most significant cities of Pasifika (Pacific) migration in the US, the presence of Pasifika citizens in Utah predate the State’s founding. As PIs continue to be the fastest growing population in Utah, Pacific Islanders enrich the diversity of Salt Lake County culture.

Established in March of 2018, Pasifika First Fridays (PFF) was founded by a local Sandy family. Seeing a need to create and hold space for Pacific Islander artists to present their work, Pasifika First Fridays set out to create a platform of gathering each month. Based on storytelling of people and place, PFF convenes likeminded folks to connect with a platform of Pasifika creatives.

As we work toward bringing in-person shows fully and safely back to our local community, we’re more committed than ever to the idea that art and culture brings people together. Join our independent artists from across Pasifika (Oceania Nation)!
