JULY'S POP UP FESTIVAL
FREE & OPEN TO THE PUBLIC
Pasifika First Fridays is a Salt Lake City based art cooperative dedicated to celebrating Pacific Islander artists and art every first Friday of the month. Our monthly festival aims to unite Utah community members and give Pacific Islander artists the chance to perform, sell, or showcase their art.
We invite Pacific Islander artists living and working in the Salt Lake Valley to join the festival for an opportunity to meet the Pasifika First Fridays Creative Team, receive a free artist profile (including head shots), and apply to be featured in upcoming First Friday festivals. For more information, email email@example.com.

Born in Tonga, Ikani enjoys spending time with my family, watching BYU football and rugby, and learning new skills. Ikani enjoys learning about business and developing software related to solving problems. Here is a short testimony of what inspired Ikani to start Ikonik Radio, the first and only streaming radio app dedicated to Polynesian artists:
I was listening to a song by Sione Toki when one of his lyrics says something like “I get no love on the radio but that bluetooth popping all day” and I thought why are you NOT on the radio?! This music is lit and needs be out there.... So I built this internet radio station to get that “Love” to our Polynesian Artist and Producers.
I saw a problem with how artists were marketing their music. Using SoundCloud and even YouTube to promote their songs essential left their music to be downloaded for free by their fans. I understand the concept of loss-leader products but I started thinking if these artist’s and producers could be on the radio it would allow them to market their music without operating at a loss and still give their fans a taste of their music. I wanted to give them a platform to do that... and I wanted to hear their music without scouring the internet looking for it.
