Priscilla "Sila" Meleisea comes to us from Murray, UT by way of Southern California. As a first generation resident of the US, Sila is the youngest of six children with parents and roots reaching from Falevai, Vava'u and Kolovai, Tongatapu, Tonga.

The slam poet recalls her writing journey starting around the age of 12 where she also practiced singing and piano. In her teen years, Sila frequented the Pomona slam circuit performing in local coffee shops and appearing in the 2011 Brave New Voices (BNV) program. Her poetry and creative works surround her late brother. As Sila explains, "Most of my poems are centered around my brother and his death, it’s how I mourned him."

Sila is the proud mother of three amazing young boys and is currently working her way back to the slam circuit. To find out more about Sila and her upcoming performances, follow her on Instagram at @hi_imsila.
