I’m Parth, a Ph.D. research intern at Samsung R&D Institute Bangalore (SRI-B) and a doctoral researcher at IIT Roorkee, working at the intersection of Artificial Intelligence and Wireless Communication. 🎓
My research focuses on distributed and federated learning, decentralized AI, and divergence-based optimization techniques, with applications in channel modeling, communication-efficient learning, and secure multi-agent systems. 🤖💡
I also explore IoT, sensor fusion, and edge intelligence, where AI/ML methods are integrated with real-world communication systems to enable low-latency, privacy-preserving, and scalable solutions for next-generation networks. 🌐📡

💼 Ph.D. Research Intern – Samsung R&D Institute India, Bengaluru (Feb 2025 – Aug 2025)
Designed ALIGN, an attentive multi-modal framework for wireless channel generation at unknown user locations; led to an IP filing, SBPA (Samsung Best Paper Award) second-round selection, and a planned submission to IEEE Transactions on Wireless Communications.
Developed MPC2Vec, a multi-task attention-based encoder–decoder for multipath component representation (custom embeddings, path presence classification, and regression); resulted in one IP filing and a planned submission to ICC 2026.
Proposed two Vision Transformer–based architectures for coverage map prediction: (i) scene-image guided with transmitter embedding and (ii) coordinate-conditioned transmitter inputs; produced one IP filing and a forthcoming submission to IEEE Transactions on Vehicular Technology.
Presented ModemInsight, a roadmap for domain-adaptive LLMs trained on telecom log datasets to automate bug triage, Q&A, and failure analysis in advanced modem systems.
💼 Junior Research Fellow – Indian Institute of Technology Roorkee (Nov 2020 – Aug 2022)
Project: Design and Development of IoT-based Smart Home Automation System (Sponsored by Sikonic Holding Co. Ltd., South Korea)
Designed and developed hardware–software solutions for smart home automation, integrating low-cost sensors, embedded controllers, and IoT connectivity.
Evaluated and compared IoT communication protocols (MQTT, CoAP, HTTP) for low-latency, reliable automation applications.
Built a functional Android application for device control using MIT App Inventor.
Mentored and collaborated with interns to deliver a complete end-to-end prototype for the industry sponsor.

Thesis: Information-Theoretic Divergence Measure based Algorithms for Adaptive Filtering and Distributed Estimation.
Designed adaptive algorithm for error-in-variable (EIV) environment, validated through Amari alpha-divergence measure based channel estimation for pilot-contaminated multicell MIMO systems, ensuring accurate channel estimates even when both pilot signals and received signals are corrupted by noise, improving reliability of channel estimation in multicell MIMO systems.
Developed computationally efficient adaptive algorithm using β-divergence measure for system identification and channel estimation, robust under non-Gaussian interference in communication channels, achieving faster convergence than conventional robust methods and supporting real-time communication system requirements.
Developed divergence-based distributed channel estimation schemes for multiuser MIMO under pilot contamination using consensus and diffusion strategies with Amari alpha-divergence measure based cost function, and demonstrated mean and mean-square stable convergence with improved MSE/MSD performance compared to centralized estimators.
Introduced block-sparsity-aware adaptive algorithms for IoT communication systems, reducing update overhead and enabling efficient echo cancellation and sparse multipath channel estimation in resource-constrained sensor networks.
Designed communication-efficient federated learning frameworks using selective updates and model compression, reducing communication overhead between devices and server while maintaining model accuracy in resource-constrained edge networks.
Published findings in 6 journals and 10 IEEE conferences, with 6 additional journal papers and 1 patent currently under review.

Dissertation: Analysis of Machine Learning Algorithms for Brain Tumor Detection.
Developed an HMM-based brain tumor detection system using the BRATS 2013 dataset during M.Tech, published as a book chapter in Springer’s Intelligent Computing and Communication Systems (2021).
Built a U-Net–based model during M.Tech for brain tumor segmentation on the LGG MRI dataset, achieving high Dice scores and robustness to tumor variability in shape, size, and location.
