If you want a reliable, direct-fit replacement to restore your Nissan Altima's high-beam and low-beam control for daily commuting or weekend off roading, choose PartCatalog Headlight Dimmer Switch; if you need a specialized switch that restores both headlight and wiper functions on specific Peugeot models like the 301, Elysee, or C3, choose AWWYaYqcs Headlight. These two parts serve fundamentally different vehicles and distinct electrical systems, so comparing them requires looking strictly at their intended applications rather than assuming they are interchangeable options.
• PartCatalog Headlight Dimmer Switch: Its biggest strength is being an OE replacement designed specifically for Nissan Altima models (2007-2013) with a promise of direct fitment and no installation fuss; its trade-off is that it is a single-function component dedicated solely to dimming controls, not a multi-switch unit.
• AWWYaYqcs Headlight: Its biggest strength is its dual-purpose design that restores both headlight and wiper functionality for Peugeot 301, Elysee, and C3 models using the exact part number 98081767ZD; its trade-off is its extremely narrow vehicle compatibility limited to those specific French automotive lines.
• Who each pick is for: Choose PartCatalog if you own a North American Nissan and need a straightforward, high-quality swap for a broken dimmer stalk. Choose AWWYaYqcs if you are restoring a European-spec Peugeot from the late 2000s and require a combined switch for lights and wipers.
The PartCatalog Headlight Dimmer Switch is built for the driver who needs precision and simplicity in a repair job. Based on the technical specifications provided, this component is engineered as an Original Equipment (OE) replacement specifically for the Nissan Altima between model years 2007 and 2013. The core value proposition here is the "Direct Replacement" design philosophy. This means the manufacturer has focused entirely on replicating the physical dimensions, connector types, and mounting points of the original factory part. For a buyer dealing with a failed switch, this translates to a seamless experience where the new unit drops into place without the need for custom wiring, cutting, or adapter fabrication.
This product shines when the primary goal is restoring the specific function of switching between high and low beams. It is a single-unit solution, meaning it does not attempt to handle other systems like wipers or turn signals. This specialization reduces the risk of failure modes associated with more complex, multi-function assemblies. If your vehicle only needs the dimmer function fixed, this targeted approach is often more robust than a generic aftermarket combo switch.
You should buy this PartCatalog unit if you drive a Nissan Altima from the specified era and have confirmed via the fitment chart that your vehicle matches the requirements. It is ideal for owners who prioritize a hassle-free installation process and want a part that feels like it came straight from the factory. However, you should skip this product if your vehicle is not a Nissan Altima from 2007-2013, or if you are looking for a switch that combines multiple functions into one lever. It is not a universal part; its utility is strictly defined by its precise engineering for that specific Japanese sedan platform.

The AWWYaYqcs Headlight switch addresses a very different set of needs, catering specifically to owners of certain European vehicles. The data clearly identifies this component as compatible with the Peugeot 301, Elysee, and C3 models from 2008 onwards. Unlike the single-function nature of the PartCatalog switch, this unit serves a dual role: it acts as both the headlight switch and the wiper switch. This integration is critical for these specific Peugeot models, where the lighting and wiper controls are often housed within a single assembly on the steering column. The inclusion of the part number 98081767ZD confirms that this is a direct match for the original equipment specification, ensuring that the electrical logic and button layout align perfectly with the car's existing dashboard interface.
The design focus here is restoration of function for a system that likely failed due to wear on the contacts or the mechanical linkage of the wiper control. By combining these two essential safety features into one unit, AWWYaYqcs offers a comprehensive fix for drivers whose Peugeot is struggling with either lost headlight control or erratic wiper operation. This is a component intended for the DIY mechanic or professional installer working on a specific subset of the French automotive market, where the integration of these systems is standard practice.
You should choose this AWWYaYqcs unit if you own a Peugeot 301, Elysee, or C3 from 2008 and need to replace a switch that controls both your lights and your windshield wipers. It is perfect for someone who wants to avoid replacing two separate components and prefers a single, OEM-matching part number to ensure reliability. Conversely, you must skip this product if you do not own one of these specific Peugeot models. It will not fit a Nissan, Toyota, Ford, or any other brand of vehicle. Its utility is entirely dependent on the specific electrical architecture of the 2008+ Peugeot lineup, making it a highly specialized tool for a specific job rather than a general-purpose automotive part.
• Best for Nissan Altima Owners (2007-2013) → PartCatalog Headlight Dimmer Switch is the only logical choice due to its specific fitment engineering for that chassis.
• Best for Peugeot 301/Elysee/C3 Owners (2008+) → AWWYaYqcs Headlight is the required solution to restore both light and wiper functions simultaneously.
• Best for Single-Function Repair → PartCatalog offers a dedicated dimmer switch, reducing complexity if you only need beam control restored.
• Best for Multi-Function Restoration → AWWYaYqcs combines headlight and wiper controls, saving labor time if both systems have failed on a Peugeot.
• Best for Direct Fit Installation → Both products claim OE-style direct replacement, but PartCatalog emphasizes "no fuss" for its specific Nissan application.
• Best for Specific Part Number Matching → AWWYaYqcs provides a clear reference to part number 98081767ZD, which is crucial for verifying compatibility on European vehicles.
• Best for Off Roading Readiness → PartCatalog is framed as a robust replacement for daily driving and off-roading scenarios where reliable high-beam visibility is non-negotiable for a Nissan owner.
• Best for European Model Maintenance → AWWYaYqcs is the go-to for maintaining the specific electrical ecosystem of older Peugeot models in North America.
In my opinion, if you are navigating rugged terrain or simply need to get home safely after a long shift, the PartCatalog Headlight Dimmer Switch is the more universally reassuring choice for its target audience. I would buy the PartCatalog unit because its singular focus on the Nissan Altima's dimmer function suggests a higher likelihood of consistent, uninterrupted performance without the added complexity of managing wiper mechanics in the same housing. For off roading specifically, having a dedicated, high-quality switch for your high beams ensures you can trust your visibility in low-light conditions without worrying about a secondary wiper function failing alongside it. However, if your situation involves a Peugeot, the AWWYaYqcs option becomes the only viable path forward due to its unique dual-function design. Always verify your vehicle's make, model, and year before purchasing, as these parts are not interchangeable across brands.
No, neither product is universal. The PartCatalog switch is strictly for Nissan Altima models from 2007-2013, while the AWWYaYqcs switch is exclusively for Peugeot 301, Elysee, and C3 models from 2008 onward.
Both products are marketed as direct replacements designed to fit without fuss. The PartCatalog documentation highlights a seamless installation process, and the AWWYaYqcs unit matches the original part number 98081767ZD for straightforward swapping.
Since these are highly specific components, ordering the wrong one will result in a poor fit or complete incompatibility. You must check the specific fitment chart for the Nissan or the part number for the Peugeot to ensure the unit matches your vehicle's requirements.
Yes, the PartCatalog unit handles only the headlight dimming function, whereas the AWWYaYqcs unit integrates both headlight and wiper control into a single assembly, reflecting the different design philosophies of American versus European vehicle manufacturers.
