Park Rapids Volleyball
Hello Volleyball Families
Incredibly exciting news: starting on June 15th, the Park Rapids Area Schools facilities will be open to us to start volleyball practice this summer! There are MANY guidelines that we will need to follow and much planning and coordination has taken place in order for this to happen. Please read ALL components of this email, as all of it is important.
Starting on June 15th: Monday - Thursday there will be volleyball practice at the High School.
Athletes will need to sign up and reserve a spot to attend. They will be in that “pod” for the duration of the Phase I of entering back into a normal routine. This schedule may change as we move through the phases of returning to full on contact practice. We are allowed 10 people in our gym during a session for volleyball (9 athletes, 1 coach) and those sessions need to be the same people (with some flexibility as the summer progresses). Practice will solely be based on individual work and social distancing will be followed.
- Please only sign up if you/your athlete can commit to coming.
- Please let Coach Sauer (218.255.2338) know ASAP when your athlete can not make it for a time they have signed up for.
- Although I know every athlete may not be able to make every practice, if they sign up, but are chronically absent their slot will be given to someone else.
- After discussing with your athlete what works best please use this link to sign them up. When it asks for your name please put your athlete’s first and last name (not your name).
Starting on June 15th, the Strength & Conditioning Program will be available at the High School
This will only be available to 9-12 graders. Athletes are encouraged to sign up for the strength and conditioning program. Athletes should sign up through Community Education. This is a huge part of building an athletes strength and being well conditioned throughout the summer to make their season a success. Coach Sauer has worked on complementing the times of when weight training is available and when volleyball practices will be. Times available to choose from for strength and conditioning is 7:00 am, 8:00 am, 9:00 am, and 10:00 am. *Sign up should be live by tomorrow I believe!* Please sign up for a strength and conditioning time that complements your volleyball practice time.
Be Aware of Girls Basketball
Coach Sauer and Coach Lembke (girls basketball coach) have worked together to make it doable for an athlete to fully participate in volleyball practice, basketball practice, and weight training, let us know if you need guidance on how to make that work.
