If you want a durable, USA-made set of tire levers for cold-weather roadside repairs and home maintenance, choose Park Tool Counter Display Tire; if you need a sophisticated electric diagnostic tool to simulate trailer brake loads and test wiring from the driver's seat, choose AirVows Brake Force Meter. These two products solve completely different mechanical problems—one is a fundamental physical tool for bicycle care, while the other is an advanced electronic simulator for automotive safety systems. Attempting to use one in place of the other would be impossible, yet both serve as critical accessories for their respective vehicle owners who demand precision and reliability in their maintenance routines.
• Park Tool Counter Display Tire: Its biggest strength is being a robust, made-in-the-USA set of 25 tire levers designed for tubeless compatibility and lightweight portability, but it is strictly a manual hand tool with no electronic components or testing capabilities.
• AirVows Brake Force Meter: Its biggest strength is its ability to perform dynamic load simulation and full circuit diagnostics from the driver's seat without needing a trailer, though it requires a specific 7-way connector and electrical system to function.
• Best for cyclists looking for a bulk supply of reliable tools to change tires quickly in freezing temperatures or on the trail.
• Best for truck owners needing to calibrate brake controllers and verify wiring integrity instantly before hitting the road in winter conditions.
The Park Tool Counter Display Tire is not a gadget; it is a workhorse designed for the practical realities of bicycle maintenance. This product comes as a box containing 25 pairs of tire levers, offering a level of redundancy that individual riders often overlook until they are stranded on a remote trail or working in a busy shop. The design prioritizes durability and utility, featuring a blue color scheme that makes them easy to spot in a cluttered toolbox or on a muddy ground. Because they are manufactured in the USA, there is a tangible sense of quality control in the materials used, which translates to a tool that resists snapping under pressure—a common failure point with cheaper alternatives.
For anyone riding in cold weather, this tool becomes even more essential. Cold rubber becomes brittle, making tire removal difficult and dangerous for rims if the wrong leverage is applied. These levers are engineered to handle tubeless setups effectively, allowing users to break the bead and remove the tire without damaging the delicate rim structure. The unit count of 25 pairs means you can keep a stash in your bike bag, your garage, and your workplace. If you ride frequently or manage a small fleet of bikes, losing a single lever is a minor inconvenience; losing all of them because you only had one or two is a trip-ending disaster.

You should buy this product if you value having a complete kit ready for immediate action. It is ideal for mechanics, serious hobbyists, and group ride leaders who need to swap tires rapidly. However, if you are looking for a single-purpose device that offers digital readouts, electronic connectivity, or automated functions, this is not the item for you. It is a purely mechanical solution to a mechanical problem. You skip this product if you do not own bicycles or if you never plan to encounter a flat tire that requires manual intervention.
The AirVows Brake Force Meter represents a significant leap forward in how truck owners approach trailer safety. Traditionally, testing brake force required borrowing a trailer, finding a safe location to tow it, and enlisting a second person to monitor the brakes while you drove. This device eliminates those hurdles by simulating the electrical characteristics of real-world trailer electromagnetic brakes. When you plug it into your truck's rear 7-way connector, the vehicle's ECU detects a trailer connection, allowing you to sit in the comfort of the driver's seat and adjust your brake controller gain with precision.
This capability is a game-changer for cold weather operations. In freezing conditions, ensuring your braking system is perfectly calibrated is not just about convenience; it is a matter of preventing accidents on icy roads. The device features ten indicator lights that display real-time brake force levels, giving you immediate visual feedback. You can adjust your settings until the lights indicate the optimal force before you ever hook up a physical trailer. Furthermore, the included 25-foot cable allows you to route the connection from the rear of the truck through the window, enabling one-person operation for tasks that previously demanded a team.
Beyond brake force simulation, this tool acts as a comprehensive circuit tester. By flipping turn signals, pressing the brake pedal, or shifting into reverse, you can verify that tail lights, left and right turns, brake lights, reverse lights, and 12V auxiliary power are all functioning correctly. Any circuit that fails to illuminate points directly to a wiring fault, corroded contact, or blown fuse. This diagnostic feature saves hours of troubleshooting time. You should choose this product if you regularly tow trailers, especially in varying weather conditions where brake performance is critical. It is less useful for someone who only occasionally tows a light load with a simple setup, but for those who rely on their truck for work or heavy recreation, the time saved and the safety gained justify its existence.
• Best for cold weather tire repairs → Park Tool Counter Display Tire: The sheer volume of levers ensures you have backups when gloves are bulky and fingers are stiff.
• Best for cold weather towing safety → AirVows Brake Force Meter: Calibrating brakes from the cab prevents sliding on ice by ensuring perfect traction distribution before moving.
• Best for battery life and portability → Park Tool Counter Display Tire: Being a passive mechanical tool, it has no batteries to charge and works indefinitely in any environment.
• Best for rapid diagnostics and time savings → AirVows Brake Force Meter: Reduces a multi-hour testing process to a five-minute calibration inside the vehicle.
• Best for one-person operation → AirVows Brake Force Meter: The long cable and driver-seat interface allow a single user to complete complex checks alone.
• Best for bulk inventory needs → Park Tool Counter Display Tire: With 25 pairs included, it serves teams, families, or shops better than single-unit solutions.
• Best for electronic integration → AirVows Brake Force Meter: Communicates directly with the truck's ECU to simulate real-world trailer dynamics.
• Best for rim protection → Park Tool Counter Display Tire: Designed specifically to prevent damage during tubeless tire changes, a critical factor for expensive wheelsets.
I would buy the AirVows Brake Force Meter for my own vehicle if I were towing a trailer, simply because the safety implications of a misaligned brake system in winter are too great to ignore. The ability to simulate load and check every wire from the driver's seat offers a level of confidence and efficiency that traditional methods cannot match. However, if my focus was entirely on cycling, the Park Tool Counter Display Tire is the only logical choice due to its American manufacturing and the peace of mind that comes with having a massive stock of reliable levers. Ultimately, the decision rests on whether your priority is keeping a bicycle rolling or ensuring a truck stops safely; these tools are not interchangeable, but both are excellent within their specific lanes.
Yes, the product information explicitly states that the levers are tubeless compatible, making them safe for use on modern tubeless setups without damaging the rim.
Absolutely. It uses dynamic load simulation technology to mimic the electrical characteristics of real trailer brakes, allowing you to test and calibrate from the driver's seat.
It includes a 25-foot cable that lets you run diagnostics from the cab, allowing you to verify all lighting circuits and brake force output without exposing yourself to freezing temperatures outside.
Buying in bulk ensures you never run out of tools during a group ride or a busy repair season, and it provides backup options if a lever breaks or gets lost in the field.
