At this stage the town could be split into any number of parishes. These could include:
Ten parish councils based on the ten wards of Tamworth Borough Council
Five parish councils based on the five county council divisions
Three parishes covering the whole of the current borough
One giant parish council to cover the whole of the boroughÂ
One model that is gaining in popularity is having seven parishes to cover the borough based on the old parishes of Tamworth dissolved in the 1970's. These could be named:
Tamworth Town Council (a parish council covering the town centre and immediate residential areas)
Dosthill & Two Gates Parish Council
Wilnecote & Castle Liberty Parish Council
Amington & Stonydelph Parish Council
Bolehall & Glascote Parish Council
Coton Parish Council (a parish council covering the modern Mercian ward and part of Spital ward)
Bitterscote & Dunstall Parish Council
