Safety checks.
· Before booking the flight or hitting the sky, make sure if the weather is clear and if its safe for paragliding.
· Ensure that the pilot has a license, make sure that he is registered with the tourism of Himachal Pradesh, and ask for his experience.
· Paragliders are made to fly only for a certain hour, so when it's your turn to hit the sky, check whether it is new or not.
· The pilot will most probably brief you in advance in what to do and what not to, but if he doesn't ask him to do so.
· The experienced team will make sure to tie all the harness, but it won't hurt for you to do double-check and see if it is secured safely with you and the carabiner.
· Since you'll be flying several meters above the ground, and there is no going back once you leap, make sure that you are mentally prepared to fly.
· Make sure that you are wearing the right size helmet and belt it up and ask the pilot whether he has a working reserve parachute.
The Don’ts.
· Never fly during bad weather, when it's raining, snowing, and when there is poor visibility. You could be putting your life at risk.
· Always wear proper clothing and shoe landing is the most important part of paragliding, so avoid wearing sandals and chappals.
· If you start to feel unwell while midair, do not panic. Instead, ask your pilot calmly to land as soon as possible as you are feeling unwell.
· If the harness seat does not have enough cushion for you to sit and may likely not provide protection during landing, ask for a new cushion harness, and do not fly if they are not willing to change.
· Never ask the pilot to do stunts as it can lead to accidents. The stunts are meant for professional paragliding and not while flying with a passenger.
· Avoid paragliding if you have health conditions, such as the knee, back, heart, or breathing problem.
