A dense and heavy wood, Tigerwood can be difficult to work and carbide-tipped tools are recommended. The wood is very resistant to insect attack and is highly durable. Pre-boring is necessary for nails and screws but can be brought to a beautiful finish. Wood is used in boat building, cabinet making, flooring, jewelry boxes and other inlay applications.
