Spruce (Sitka)

(Picea sitchensis)

White to pale yellow in color. The wood works well with tools but has poor steam-bending properties. Not considered durable and has little resistance to insect attack. Frequently used to make sound boards for musical instruments, and in boat building.

Normally 8/4 thick lumber.
