Purpleheart is very durable and resistant to insect attack and decay. Color can be bright to dark purple and will darken to brownish purple after extended exposure to sunlight. To slow down the darkening of the wood a quality finish with UV inhibitors is recommended. Wood is frequently used in decorative inlays, boxes, flooring, pool cues, and furniture pieces.
Normally stock 4/4, 8/4 thick lumber.
