Douglas Fir is normally straight grained and the color can range from pinkish-yellow to red-brown depending on age. Frequently used in plywood cores and general construction. It nails, glues, screws and planes well but has poor painting and varnishing properties. Can be stained with success.
Normally stock 4/4 thick lumber.
