#news filled with 💩 creates a loss of public trust in news companies and decreases the journalism standards. Further more the use of #news as a quick campaigning and advertising tool comes at the risk of miss or disinformation as the presidential elections are approaching.
The absence of clear standards and regulations regarding the posting of news in #news and the low barrier to entry to get started on flooding #news. As of right now all you need is to add the utilities bot to your discord server and executing the command "/news request" and get accepted with no prior verification of qualification. This has enticed (new) players to start their own news company without having the capabilities to do so properly.
There are not many ways to dissuade news papers to stop behaving like this besides regulations. Recently it has been debated about creating a strike system where if you X amounts of strikes the news company gets disqualified from DPA grants. Or about creating standards for news companies with consequences if you don't respect them.
(This section is for Alexandria news only (and Plura74) ! do not read other wise >:)
Stop being "the opposite of smart" and don't give access to the discord web hook or writing permissions to any employees and let everything get checked first before posting it.
If you don't like writting articles just don't write any articles you wouldn't have any controversy and you wouldn't be made fool of.
