「旁注 · 划词批注」（以下称「旁注」）是一个 Chrome 浏览器扩展，用来在网页上划词翻译、写批注，并把正文和批注导出为离线 HTML 文件。开发者不运营任何服务器，不收集、不保存、不出售你的任何数据。
以下数据保存在浏览器的扩展存储（chrome.storage.local）里，只在你的设备上，开发者无法访问：
批注：你选中的原文及其前后各约 32 个字符、批注内容、标签、颜色、显示方式、所在网页的网址和标题、创建和修改时间；
设置：界面偏好、停用的网站列表，以及你填写的 AI 服务配置（服务、模型、接口地址、API Key）。
卸载扩展时，这些数据会被浏览器一并删除。你也可以随时在扩展的「设置与文库」页面删除某个网页的批注或清除 API Key。
内置翻译：使用 Chrome 自带的设备端翻译，待翻译的文字在你的设备上处理，不上传到翻译服务器。此功能需要支持 Translator API 的桌面版 Chrome；首次使用某些语言时，Chrome 需要联网下载模型或语言包。
单词释义：选中单个英文单词时，扩展会把这个单词发送给 dictionaryapi.dev 查询释义和音标；该服务不可用时改为发送给 en.wiktionary.org（维基词典）。不发送句子、网址或其他内容。
AI 服务（可选，默认关闭）：只有你在设置里选择并配置 AI 服务之后，扩展才会在你选中文字时，把选中的文字、它所在的句子和网页标题发送给你选择的服务：Anthropic（Claude）、OpenAI、xAI（Grok）、DeepSeek、Google（Gemini）、阿里云（通义千问）、月之暗面（Kimi）、OpenRouter、Ollama，或你自己填写的接口地址。需要 API Key 的服务会同时收到你填写的 Key，用于身份验证；Ollama 可以不使用 Key，默认连接本机，也可以由你配置其他地址。这些数据由所选服务按其自己的隐私政策处理，付费服务的费用记在你自己的账号上。
导出离线 HTML：为了把图片存进导出的文件，扩展会从图片所在的网站下载正文中的图片（请求不附带 Cookie）。导出的文件直接保存到你的电脑，不经过任何服务器。
扩展会在你打开的网页上运行，用来响应你的划词操作、在页面上显示你保存过的批注、以及在你点击「保存」时提取正文。网页内容只在你的设备上处理，除第 3 条列出的情况外，不会被发送到任何地方。
不持续记录你的浏览历史，不跟踪你的行为，不使用分析或统计工具；只为保存和恢复批注而在本机保存你批注过的网页地址、标题和时间，启用 AI 后还会按第 3 条发送当前网页标题；
不投放广告；
不出售或出租用户数据，仅按第 3 条列出的功能传输必要数据；
不把数据用于与上述功能无关的目的，也不用于判断信用或发放贷款。
旁注对用户数据的使用和传输遵守 Chrome 网上应用店用户数据政策，包括其中的「有限使用」要求。
在设置中选择「不使用 AI」，就不会有任何内容发送给 AI 服务；仅清除 API Key 不能停用无需 Key 的 Ollama；
在扩展图标的弹窗里，可以让旁注在某个网站上停用；
在「设置与文库」中可以删除任何网页的批注，或清除某个服务的 API Key；
卸载扩展会删除全部本地数据。

Overview. Pangzhu ("旁注 · 划词批注") is a Chrome extension for translating selected text on web pages, writing notes on the page, and exporting the article with your notes as an offline HTML file. The developer runs no servers and does not collect, store, or sell any of your data.
Stored only on your device. Your notes (the selected text with about 32 characters of surrounding context, your note, tag, color, display style, the page URL and title, and timestamps) and your settings (preferences, sites where the extension is turned off, and any AI service configuration including your API key) are kept in the browser's extension storage (chrome.storage.local) on your device. The developer cannot access them. Uninstalling the extension deletes them.
Sent to third parties only when you use a feature.
Built-in translation processes the text on your device through Chrome's on-device translator, without uploading it to a translation server. It requires desktop Chrome with the Translator API; Chrome may need an internet connection to download models or language packs on first use.
Word definitions: when you select a single English word, that word is sent to dictionaryapi.dev, or to en.wiktionary.org if the former is unavailable. No sentence, URL, or other content is sent.
AI services (optional, off by default): only after you choose and configure a service, the selected text, its sentence, and the page title are sent to that service (Anthropic, OpenAI, xAI, DeepSeek, Google, Alibaba Cloud, Moonshot AI, OpenRouter, Ollama, or an endpoint you enter). Services that require an API key also receive the key you enter for authentication. Ollama can work without a key and defaults to your local computer; you can configure another endpoint. The selected service handles the data under its own privacy policy, and paid usage is billed to your own account.
Offline export: to embed images in the exported file, the extension downloads the article's images from the sites that host them (without cookies). The file is saved directly to your computer.
Page content. The extension runs on pages you open in order to respond to your selections, show the notes you saved, and extract the article when you click Save. Page content is processed on your device and is not sent anywhere except as listed above.
What we don't do. No continuous browsing-history recording, tracking, analytics, or ads. Only the addresses, titles and timestamps of pages you annotate are saved locally to restore your notes; enabling AI also sends the current page title as described above. User data is never sold or rented, shared only as described above, never used for unrelated purposes, and never used to determine creditworthiness or for lending. The use and transfer of user data complies with the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
Your choices. Choose "No AI service" ("不使用 AI") to stop sending content to AI services; clearing a key alone does not disable keyless Ollama. Turn the extension off for a site from its toolbar popup; delete notes or clear API keys in the settings page; uninstall to remove all local data.
