Privacy Policy for Panchanga Chakra

This Privacy Policy describes how Panchanga Chakra (“the App”, “we”, “us”) handles information. The App is an Android Vedic almanac / sky-clock. Calculations run on your device. The App does not include an internet permission, does not create accounts, and does not include advertising, analytics, or crash-reporting SDKs.

This page is written to match how the App currently works. It is not legal advice. If you change the App (ads, login, cloud sync, analytics), you must update this policy and your Google Play Data safety form before you ship that change.

1. Summary

• No sign-in. No user profile on a server.

• No ads. No trackers. No Firebase, Google Analytics, or similar in the App.

• The App does not send your data to us over the network, because it has no internet permission.

• If you allow location, or you type a place, that place is saved on the phone so sunrise, tithi, and the chakra can be computed for that spot.

• We do not sell personal data. We do not have a server that receives it.

2. Information stored on your device

The App may store the following locally (SharedPreferences / app storage):

• Location you choose: a label, latitude, longitude, and timezone ID. You can pick a listed place, enter coordinates yourself, or (if you grant permission) use the device’s last known location.

• App settings: for example how many times the App has been opened, and whether you dismissed the home-screen widget prompt or the rating prompt.

This information is used only to show panchanga, sunrise/sunset, Moon and Sun positions, and related screens for the place and time you selected, and to avoid repeating prompts you already dismissed.

Uninstalling the App removes this data from the device, except where the Android system has already copied it into a backup you control (see section 5).

3. Location permission

The App may request approximate and/or precise location (ACCESS_COARSE_LOCATION and ACCESS_FINE_LOCATION). This is optional. You can refuse and still use the App by choosing a listed city or entering coordinates yourself.

Location is requested so the App can fill “current location” when you tap that option. The App reads the location from the Android location services on the device. It does not upload that location to us.

You can revoke location permission at any time in Android Settings. After that, the App will keep using the last place you saved until you change it.

4. Permissions that are not used to collect data

The App may use RECEIVE_BOOT_COMPLETED so a home-screen widget can refresh after the phone restarts. That permission is not used to collect personal information.

The App does not declare INTERNET, does not show ads, and does not request the advertising ID.

5. Android backup and device transfer

Android may include app data in Google backup / device transfer if those features are enabled on your phone (for example backup to a Google Account, or copying apps to a new device). If that happens, the location and settings stored by the App can be copied by the operating system according to Google’s and your device maker’s rules. We do not operate that backup service.

6. When you leave the App (Play Store, sharing)

Some buttons open another app, for example:

• Rate / Support opens the Google Play Store listing for Panchanga Chakra.

• Share may open your chosen share target (Messages, WhatsApp, email, and so on) with a Play Store link.

Those other apps and Google Play have their own privacy policies. We do not control what they collect after you leave the App.

7. Children

The App is a general-audience calendar and sky tool. It is not directed at children under 13, and it is not designed to collect personal information from children. We do not knowingly collect data from children. If you believe a child has provided personal information through this App, contact us and we will help you with uninstall / permission steps, which is how data is removed given that we store nothing on our servers.

8. What we do not do

• We do not sell, rent, or trade personal information.

• We do not use your data for advertising or profiling.

• We do not run a backend that receives your location, contacts, photos, or files.

• We do not require an account.

9. Your choices

• Deny or revoke location permission in system settings.

• Change or overwrite the saved place inside the App.

• Clear the App’s storage in Android Settings, or uninstall the App.

• Email us at rushi.19sb654@gmail.com with privacy questions. Because we do not hold an online copy of your data, we cannot “delete your account” on a server — there is no account. Device-side deletion is uninstall / clear storage.

10. Security

Data stays on the device using Android’s normal app sandbox. No method of storage is perfectly secure. Anyone with physical access to an unlocked phone, or with backup access, may be able to read app data the same way they can for other local apps.

11. Panchanga content (not privacy, but important)

Times and sky positions are computed on-device from astronomical formulae (including Lahiri / Chitrapaksha ayanamsa as shown in the App). Results are for personal, educational, and informational use. They are not professional astrological, religious, medical, or legal advice. Festival and vrata timings can differ by tradition and local practice. You are responsible for how you use the output.

12. Changes

If we add features that collect or share data (for example ads, crash reports, cloud sync, or an account), we will update this policy, update the Play Console Data safety form, and change the “Last updated” date. Continued use after a material change means you accept the updated policy. If you do not agree, uninstall the App.
