Most Panasonic television remote controls for the past 8 years have used the same IR signal. Thus, if an original remote for a model is not available you can use another Panasonic remote that has similar buttons.

I had the same problem. I assumed that since the Panasonic had the same phone jack as Pentax/Canon EOS, I could use it on my Panasonic. Wrong. Once I purchased a dedicated remote for Panasonic, the shutter release worked correctly.

As uRebel Rob said in the first response, check to see if you are in Movie mode, M on your dial. This is how I start recording blogs. If in M mode it starts video, all other modes it is the shutter. The remote mimics whatever the shutter will do.

However, if I plug a wired remote into the camera, the camera is forced into video mode (regardless of Mode Dial setting). Pressing the remote button all the way in starts video recording; pressing the remote button partway in (for focus) causes the lens to zoom in or out (each press reverses the direction of zoom). It makes for some interesting surrealistic video, but that's not what I want. Especially when I'm trying to shoot stills.

I'm going to try one more time with a replacement unit (Vello RS-PII, as recommended by B&H) if that doesn't work, I assume that I got a bad unit, so back it goes as defective. Glad I tried everything including the remote right away when I got the camera - otherwise I might not have discovered this issue for weeks or longer.

SMDV RF-906 is the model I use. Works quite well. The receiver unit works like a cable release even when it does not have a battery. With a battery, it's a receiver unit, so it can be triggered remotely using a compact transmitter.

My remote quit turning off my Panasonic TV too. The remote still turns on the TV and adjusts the volume. I researched this problem and discovered that you can use the voice command on the remote to tell it to turn the TV off. Works every time!

i have the newest Apple TV 4K. I have a Panasonic TV. When I put the Apple TV to sleep, it will turn off the TV. However when I press the power button on the remote to watch TV, it will NOT turn on the tv.

Currently, with the Arduino, i am trying to use an IR LED to control my Panasonic tele. So i used the IR sensor and read a load of codes from my existing remote and then used the ITSendDemo sketch as a basis to start controlling the tele. They were all 8 bytes in length apart from 1 which I assumed had a leading 0 dropped by the print command.

Lastly, you can test with the Songle adapter, that came with your Beam, from the TV to the Beam and setup your TV remote to the Beam using this link. If the issues do not follow the Songle connection this would indicate you may need to talk to your TV manufacture.

Quick update. I ran into the disconnect of the remote again this evening and generated the dignostic bundle and sent in - confirmation number 1776183832. Interestingly, in the disconnected state, I went into my tvs menu to the CEC settings and this actually got the beam back in sync with my remote again so not sure what that tells me about this problem.

When everything is re-booted please let us know if the issue presents itself again. If yes, then test the Songle, that came with your Beam, and connect from the TV to the Beam with that connection. You can use this link to setup your TV remote to work with the Beam. I would then ask that you follow up if the issue presents itself again in this conflagration along with an new diagnostic report and report number here.

I have a Panasonic DVD recorder too, and every time we would get Panasonic Blu-ray players in for review, my poor DVD recorder would go haywire. Panasonic DVD players, DVD recorders and Blu-ray players all share the same IR code set which means pressing play on any of the remotes will send a play control to all compatible devices.

But there's an easy fix. Check your DVD recorder or Blu-ray player manual for specific details on changing the remote control code. Basically you can set both the player and the remote to a different code set so that they "speak the same language" but this language is different from the standard Panasonic IR code set.

To use the remote control, you must have your mobile / tablet is on the same wifi network as your TV . Detection of your TV will automatically. As the application runs on your home network, it is not necessary to be near to the TV.

I have gone through all the codes and can get DirecTV remote RC65 to control my older Panasonic TV when the mode switch is set to "TV." However, when I put the mode switch to "DirecTV" (far left position) the TV does not respond. I also have not been able to get the "TV Input" button on RC65 remote to work with TV. Please help!

Hit the on button 2x. I have a panasonic different model input worked.... tried on /off and both work in unison now after hitting the on button 2x the first time. Probably out of synch with on and off.

If you have a genuine Panasonic Viera remote control unit for the TV there should be a button on the remote labelled CC. Press that button to turn the closed captions on and off, i.e press to turn on, press again to turn off or perhaps it may be press to select option then press OK button.

The other option is to buy a replacement remote (supplier example only). Search online for "TX-32LXD70 remote" to find suppliers that suit you best. The subtitles are controlled by the STTL button on the remote.
