Panania Senior Citizens Club is an essential pillar of support, connection and wellbeing for older residents in the City of Canterbury Bankstown, and beyond.
With nearly a quarter of the local population now aged 55 and over, and a growing number of seniors living alone, the need for inclusive, community-driven spaces has never been greater. Panania Senior Citizens Club plays a critical role in meeting that need.
Panania Senior Citizens Club provides a welcoming, social and supportive environment where seniors can stay active, build friendships and feel genuinely valued. Through regular activities, exercise programs and social gatherings, members are encouraged to learn new skills, maintain their physical and mental health, and remain engaged in community life.
In 2024, the club was set to fold due to a lack of volunteers and an executive committee. A call for help was put out to the local community, and people from all walks of life stepped forward to unite with a shared commitment to keep Panania Senior Citizens Club operational.
Panania Senior Citizens Club continues to be entirely volunteer-run, and everyone is welcome to join or lend a hand - even if it's just for an hour a week.
Currently, the Club operates classes from Panania Senior Citizens Centre, located at 77 Anderson Ave, Panania in the main shopping village. The Club is located a short walk from Panania Library, Panania train station and is surrounded by free parking spaces.
There is ramp access into the centre and accessible parking nearby. With the closure of Panania Senior Citizens Centre at the end of 2026, a new venue is currently beyond sought
for 2027 and beyond.
We look forward to welcoming you!
