Mrs. Annette Kruger - Educator

I highly endorse Pam Engles for school board.  Pam and I were both teachers at Forbes Elementary, where I had the privilege of working alongside her for 11 years.  During that time, I came to admire her deep commitment to students and her down-to-earth, common-sense approach to education. She was a caring and dedicated teacher who always put her students first.  Beyond her classroom responsibilities, Pam often stepped into leadership roles-helping to plan professional development, mentoring new teachers, and supporting students with behavioral challenges.  Before the days of vice principals and PLC coaches, the principal entrusted her with administrative duties when he was away.  She also represented administration in IEP meetings, and played a key role on the School Community Council.  Pam took on the massive task of ordering and distributing all language arts and math materials for the school.  Her willingness to step up wherever needed, her collaborative spirit, and her practical understanding of how schools run make Pam exceptionally qualified to serve on the school board.

Dr. Larry Dean - Past principal at Forbes Elementary and adjunct professor in Education for UVC

I am writing this letter in support of Mrs. Pamela Engles who is running for a position on the Aspen Peaks School Board.  I have worked closely with Pam the past 28 years in education.  We worked together at Forbes Elementary School where I was the principal and she served as a 5th grade teacher half-time and my assistant principal the other half of the day. Mrs. Engles is one of the finest individuals and educators that I have worked with in my 46 years in education.  She is a wonderful mentor and so intuitive as to the needs of educators and students alike.  We could not find a better person to address the issues and challenges of education for future generations.

Mr. Mike Gowans - Educator and president of the Alpine Education Association

I am honored to public endorse Pam Engles for School Board.  Pam has taught for 37 years.  She is a very respected teacher and person.  She is honest, talented, and cares about all students and educators.  She is a true champion of public education and will serve the patrons, students and educators of Aspen Peaks School District with honor and respect.

Sonja Reynolds - Parent and Music Instructor

Choosing a school board member is a critical decision, and I wholeheartedly recommend Pamela Engles. Having known Pamela for over twenty years, I can attest to her unique qualifications rooted in her vast experience. She is not only a former educator and administrator with a deep understanding of our schools' day-to-day operations and strategic needs, but also a dedicated parent who has navigated our district's schools herself. This firsthand experience gives her a personal and empathetic perspective on the challenges and opportunities our students and families face.

Beyond her professional and personal expertise, Pamela is a highly involved community member. Her commitment to our community is evident in her volunteer work and active participation in local initiatives. This blend of professional experience, a parent’s perspective, and deep community engagement makes her an exceptionally well-rounded and capable candidate. Pamela is the thoughtful, informed leader our school board needs, and I urge you to vote for her.
