I'm an Assistant Professor with the Department of Engineering at Universidad Peruana Cayetano Heredia (UPCH) where I work with AI techniques applied to Medical Imaging and Biosignals. From Sept 2020-Aug 2023 I was the director of the Informatics undergrad program.
I hold an adjunct teaching position at Pontificia Universidad Católica del Perú.
From Aug 2018 to Dec 2019 I was an Invited Researcher at the University of Montreal/Mila supervised by Prof. Yoshua Bengio. I earned my master's degree from the Institute of Computing at University of Campinas (Brazil) working under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Jacques Wainer. I did my undergrad at Pontificia Universidad Católica del Perú with Prof. Genghis Ríos Kruger.

Dec 15th, 2020: I'll be teaching "Graphical Computing", a grad class for the Master Program in Informatics at PUCP (2021-1).
Nov 07th, 2020: I'll be at the AI and Radiology Discussion Panel with Vanessa Velezmoro (INEN) and José Ferrer (UPCH) at VII Curso Internacional de Radiología Oncológica at the National Cancer Institute in Lima, Peru.

Sep 01st, 2020: Starting September I'm Head of the Informatics Undergraduate Program at Universidad Peruana Cayetano Heredia. The first offering of the program is taking applications now and is due to start on March 2021.
Sep 01st, 2020: I'll be co-teaching and a technical advisor of the following classes within the Biomedical Engineering Program at UPCH: Introduction to Biomedical Signals (mainly the ML aspects of biomed signal analysis), Biodesign Project I (technical advisor) and Innovation Processes in Bioengineering (technical advisor).
Mar 07th, 2020: I'll be teaching a Image Processing class at UPC-Perú. This is a regular class offered for the Computer Science undergrad program. (March 23rd-July 11th)
Feb 27th, 2020: I was part of a round table discussion about Deep Fakes @Café-IA PUCP. There is a video recording available.
Feb 23rd, 2020: I'll be co-teaching a "Introduction to Biomedical Signals" class at UPCH (March 18th-July 1st)
Feb 11th, 2020: I'll be teaching a Python for Data Science class (Feb 14th- April 3rd) and a Programming for Data Exploration class (Feb 15th- June 6th) at PUCP. These classes are organized by the Artificial Intelligence Research Group.
