About me

I am an Assistant Professor in the Economics Department at West Virginia University. I work on topics in urban and labor economics. My ongoing work is related to the distributional impacts of public transit.

I graduated with a Ph.D. in Economics from the University of Maryland in 2022. My dissertation examined the welfare benefits of the introduction of metro rail in Mumbai in terms of travel time savings to commuters, improved employment accessibility, land value appreciation, and air quality. My other projects engage with women's employment decisions in various contexts.

Palak is pronounced as Puh-luck. My pronouns are she/her.
