Privacy Policy for Palaestra

Palaestra is a training app. It is built so that the only thing it needs from you is your training, and the only place that training lives is your own phone. This document states exactly what that means.
1. No account, no profile, no tracking
Palaestra has no sign-up, no login and no user account. It does not ask for your email, phone number or date of birth. It contains no analytics SDK, no advertising SDK and no crash-reporting SDK, so nothing about how you move through the app is measured, profiled or sent anywhere. The athlete name you may type in Settings is a label for your own screen; it never leaves the device.
2. What the app keeps, and where
Your drill history, round timings, form scans and their photos, mini-game results, diamond ledger, cups, badges, favourite moves and preferences are written to the app's private container on your device. That container is reachable only by Palaestra. No copy is uploaded, backed up to us, or shared with another app. Removing Palaestra from the device erases all of it in one step.
3. Photos you scan for form feedback
The camera and the photo library are used for one purpose: to send a training photo for form analysis when you ask for it. A photo is never opened, read or uploaded in the background. Before the first scan the app shows a full-screen notice describing what is about to be sent, and the feature stays closed until you agree.
4. When something does leave the device
Three features are powered by a third-party model: today's drill generation, photo form analysis, and the tactical explanation in the Grip Choice game. Each one is gated behind its own agreement screen, and each one sends only the material that feature needs — the filters you picked, the photo you selected, or the scenario you just answered. That material goes to OpenAI (model gpt-4o-mini) over an encrypted connection, is used to produce the reply you see, and comes back into the app. Your name, your saved history, your ledger and your other photos are never part of the request. OpenAI's own handling of API data is described at https://openai.com/policies/privacy-policy. If you never agree to those three notices, Palaestra makes no network requests at all — the timer, the Ring games, the Vault and the Library are fully offline.
5. Withdrawing your agreement
Every agreement you gave can be taken back in Settings. Revoking it closes that feature behind the notice again and stops any further request from it. Revoking does not delete results you already saved; you can remove those individually, or clear everything with the reset control.
6. Deleting your data
There is no server-side copy to request, correct or export, because there is no server-side copy. You control deletion directly: delete a single scan or drill inside the app, use the reset control in Settings to wipe the ledger, or delete the app to remove the container entirely.
7. Children
Palaestra is aimed at adults training on their own and is not directed at children under 13. No age information is requested, and no data from children is knowingly kept — there is no collection channel through which such data could reach us.
8. Updates to this policy
If the app's data behaviour changes, this document changes with it and the date at the top is moved forward. Continued use after an update means the current version applies.
