Amanda has been an educator for over 25 years, working with a diverse range of students from the steppe of Kazakhstan to bush villages of Alaska and most recently training teachers in Pakistan and Uganda. She holds a Masters of Arts in Teaching and an Educational Administration Certificate from Johns Hopkins University. She is a Google Certified Trainer and a Canvas Certified Educator. In Alaska, USA, Amanda serves as the Professional Development and Virtual Learning Coordinator for the Kenai Peninsula School District, State of Alaska Virtual Learning Consortium Governing Board Member, and contracts with other school districts on educational technology training.
Amanda has received recognition through becoming a Fulbright Fellow, an English Language Specialist with the U.S. State Department, and receiving ISTE’s Making IT Happen Award. She is deeply passionate about teacher collective efficacy, systems change and student centered learning design. Currently, her mission is to facilitate the deepening of innovative educational culture through reflective practice, solution-oriented collaboration and transparent growth mindset. She seeks to mentor and honor the journeys of educators toward innovative ways of thinking. Her driving and foundational philosophy is Learners first, always.
