Bree Torrance
Bree Torrance
❝Some people shine a little brighter than others.❞
Daniella Lucas was the product of a brief, substance-fueled fling. Her parents were both addicts, and she was born addicted, too, since her mother, Cara, couldn't stop using even while pregnant. Though they hadn't really been in love, or even that close of friends, Cara named her daughter after her father, Dan, because he'd been a kinder man than most. Cara tried to be clean and sober for her daughter, but she had no support system, and felt like life was just a constant uphill battle. Eventually, she overdosed, leaving her baby girl alone.
It took a few months to find Dan Torrance, but DCFS eventually got in contact with him and let him know he had a daughter in need of a parent. Once she was with her dad, her name was legally changed--because Dan felt awkward having her named after him, and instead named her after his mother.
Bree grew up in the small town of Frasier, raised by her single dad and his best friend Billy. She spent a lot of time hanging out at the care facility where her dad worked when she wasn't at school; the old people loved having the little girl around, and she loved having a captive audience to ramble to. It quickly became clear that like Dan, she had a shine to her. Even as a small child, Bree seemed to always know what people were feeling, and was able to influence their emotions for the better. Her shine only grew stronger as she grew up, and was often painful for her. She never felt like a freak, though, because her dad was always there to support her.
