Allison grew up moving around a lot; her father's job took them all over the country, and it made it hard for her to make and keep friends. It did lead her into all kinds of hobbies, though; with every new city, Allison would reinvent herself, trying to find the version of her that felt most comfortable. 

She'd only been going to her latest school for a few months before learning that werewolves were real, her family had hunted them for centuries, and her new boyfriend was one. To say it turned her world upside down would be an understatement. But Allison had always been an overachiever, and she quickly adapted. She even went on to change the centuries-old motto of "We hunt those who hunt us" to "We protect those who cannot protect themselves." That included humans and werewolves, and anyone else who didn't have the strength to protect themselves.

Allison died honoring that code, protecting her friends--and then she came back. After being stabbed by the Oni, they managed to get her to a hospital before she bled out. Her heart stopped, paramedics restarted it, and then she was rushed into surgery. When Allison woke up, she was surrounded by her family, her pack. She was also partially paralyzed. Her spinal cord was damaged, and it left her with chronic pain as well as a significant loss of mobility. She could technically still walk, but not without difficulty (or crutches), so she mostly ended up using a wheelchair. 

Allison and her dad spent the summer after Junior year in Paris, and she had to beg him to go back to Beacon Hills--to go back home--for Senior year. She might've thought twice if she'd known what was coming for the pack next, but then again, probably not. After all, she'd already died once for them, she wasn't afraid to do it again.
