I completed this as part of Miss Kay's Honors English Language Arts class. This work was part of my Morning Pages for the class in which students can decide to freewrite whatever they like.
. . . . . . .Â
The corridors of time and space unwind,
The doors to the planes of existence
Open and close, their pathways unconfined
While others fade into bare subsistence
Like a memory lost in the back of the mind.
The pendulum echoes in endless consistence
Its hands keeping the galaxies' orbits aligned
And forever trapped by time's assistance,
But revolved into blind compliance,
An astronomical servant with nothing left behind
Of its life before it was ever entwined
In the orbits' rotationary persistence.
