PageQR — Web Page to QR ("PageQR", "we", "our", or "the extension") is a Chrome browser extension that allows users to generate a QR code for the webpage they are currently viewing.
We respect your privacy and are committed to keeping PageQR simple, secure, and privacy-friendly.
When you use PageQR, the extension may access the following information from the active browser tab:
The URL of the webpage you are currently viewing.
The title of the webpage.
This information is used only to generate and display a QR code containing the current webpage URL and, where applicable, display the webpage title.
PageQR uses the active webpage URL only for the extension's core functionality.
For example:
You open a webpage in Chrome.
You click the PageQR extension.
PageQR reads the URL of the active webpage.
A QR code is generated containing that URL.
You can scan, download, copy, or share the QR code.
PageQR does not use the webpage URL for advertising, profiling, analytics, or tracking.
PageQR generates QR codes locally within your browser.
The webpage URL is not sent to a remote QR-code generation server for the purpose of creating the QR code.
If enabled by the extension, PageQR may use Chrome's local storage functionality to save basic user preferences, such as:
Light or dark theme preference.
Selected QR code size.
Other basic interface preferences.
These preferences are used only to improve the extension experience.
PageQR does not intentionally store your browsing history, personal information, passwords, payment information, or webpage content.
PageQR does not intentionally collect or sell:
Personal identification information
Passwords or authentication information
Financial or payment information
Health information
Precise location information
Personal communications
Browsing history
Website content
User profiles
Search history
Advertising profiles
PageQR does not require you to create an account, register, or provide personal information to use the extension.
PageQR does not display advertisements inside the extension and does not use your webpage URL for advertising or user profiling.
PageQR does not intentionally use third-party tracking technologies to monitor your browsing activity.
PageQR does not send webpage URLs or QR-code data to third-party QR-generation services.
The extension is designed to perform its core QR-generation functionality locally in the browser.
If third-party services are introduced in future versions, this Privacy Policy will be updated before or when such services are used.
We do not sell, rent, or trade user data.
We do not intentionally transfer user data to third parties for advertising, marketing, or unrelated purposes.
PageQR only accesses information necessary to provide its core functionality.
PageQR may request browser permissions that are necessary for its functionality.
The activeTab permission is used to access the URL and title of the webpage that the user is currently viewing after interacting with the PageQR extension.
This information is required to generate the QR code for the current webpage.
If the storage permission is used, it is used only to save basic extension preferences, such as theme and QR-code display settings.
No browsing history or personal information is intentionally stored through this permission.
PageQR is designed to minimize the amount of information it accesses and processes.
The extension does not require a remote backend for its core QR-generation functionality.
However, no software or internet service can guarantee absolute security. Users should keep their browser and operating system updated and use trusted websites.
PageQR is not specifically directed toward children.
We do not intentionally collect personal information from children or other users through the extension.
We may update this Privacy Policy if PageQR's functionality, permissions, or data practices change.
Any updated version will be published on this page with a revised "Last Updated" date.
We encourage users to review this Privacy Policy periodically.
If you have questions, concerns, bug reports, or privacy-related questions regarding PageQR, please contact the developer through the support information provided on the PageQR Chrome Web Store listing.
By installing and using PageQR, you acknowledge that you have read and understood this Privacy Policy.
