Advancement Chair

The pack awards and advancement chair's responsibilities are to:

  • Have a working knowledge of Cub Scout advancement plans for each rank. 

  • Ensure Den Leaders are recording advancement requirements in Scoutbook, reaching out to Den Leaders to remind them. 

  • Arrange for, maintain, purchase (with pack committee approval), and organize patches, certificates, and other recognitions items for Scouts and Scout Leaders, as well as den and pack level awards. 

  • Answer questions about the proper insignia placement and uniform usage. 

  • Send reminders to Den Leaders / Parents about deadlines for critical advancement deadlines: Bobcat Award, Rank Completion

  • Help plan and conduct induction and advancement recognition ceremonies, including the Blue and Gold Dinner, AOL Bridging Ceremony, and Pack Advancement Ceremony. 

  • Find, order, and maintain special event patches

  • Maintain a record of awards, knowing which Scouts have recieved their awards and patches, and who still needs to be awarded.
