Friends of Scouting

Our Scout Law says that "A Scout is Thrifty." A Scout works to pay his way and to help others. The operating costs for Garden State Council are about $200 per Scout. A critical portion of those costs are paid for through the generous Friends of Scouting donations made by friends like you.

Without the help and support of Garden State Council, we could not deliver the value of Scouting to our families and community.

Garden State Council helps us with:

  • Professional Scouting staff to ensure the integrity of the Scouting program,
  • Training for our volunteer leaders,
  • Recruiting materials for our growth,
  • And the use of four local camp grounds (including the rangers and maintenance staff!)

Garden State Council helps our community by:

  • Making Scouting available to our region
  • Starting new Packs and Troops in Camden and other under-served communities that need it most.
  • Providing camp scholarships, uniforms, and registration fees to disadvantaged young people.

Every donation to Friends of Scouting helps ensure that Scouting remains a positive force in the lives of young people throughout South Jersey. Our goal is to raise at least $25 per family. Some companies, possibly including the one for which you work, will match your contribution. Don't miss out on "free money" this year! Donation forms will be handed out at the December Pack Meeting, or you may donate online.

Please give generously to help our Scouts pay their own way, and to help others.
