2026-2027 Projects

Ages 5+. Helping the Pacifica Beach Coalition preserve the health of our ocean, beaches, wildlife, and coastal environment.

Ages 5-8. Making new friends while going on a tour of what Pacifica 4-H has to offer by joining a new project each month to experience and learn.

 5+(all breeds), 9+(large goats). County-Wide Project: Dairy Goat Project will allow youth who own or wish to own their own dairy goat the opportunity to gain knowledge about health, maintenance, breeding, and showmanship. This project will cover all size dairy goats, including Nigerian Dwarf Goats and Pigmi Goats that are considered small animals and large goats. 

Goatless Dairy Goat Project runs alongside the Dairy Goat Project and gives youth the opportunity to learn about dairy goats without the responsibility of owning one. Youth will have hands-on opportunities with the animals and learn valuable health, maintenance, and showmanship knowledge.

Ages 5+. Learn about growing plants while planting and maintaining the garden at our club's farm. Have fun getting outside and beautifying our lovely garden. You many even get to bring some plants home to practice your growing skills. No experience necessary!

Ages 12+. Focusing on having fun while completing a Service Learning Project. This meeting occurs immediately before the youth board meeting. Mandatory for current board members

Ages 9+. We will focus on raising poultry for market/ auction at the SMC Fair next June.  We will prioritize market grade turkeys and chickens, maybe heritage turkeys.  Key points of learning include health care, nutrition, weighing, cleaning, grooming, marketing/sales at auction, and other requirements for auction at the Fair.

Ages 9+. The project will focus on raising market hogs for auction at the San Mateo County Fair. Members will learn about equipment, nutrition, feeding, health care, training, fair requirements, marketing and sales. The ultimate goal is raising healthy hogs to auction at the June fair.

Ages 5+. Can a mobile game build competence, confidence, connection, character, and caring? Let’s find out while we walk the Pacifica outdoors, make new friends, and explore game challenges while encountering and catching Pokemon. 

Ages 5+. This will be a hands-on learning project for the better part of the year, learning about different breeds and behaviors of shows chickens and poultry in general.  Other instruction will include health checks, breeding and hatching,learning and practicing showmanship and judging with live chickens.
