I was born in a small town among fields of sugar cane and orange trees in the interior of São Paulo state, Brazil. No ships around. But they always fascinated me. As the late shipowner E. D. Næss pointed out, God must have been a shipowner. He placed the raw materials far from where they were needed and covered two-thirds of the earth with water.
I have a background in naval architecture (Poli-USP, Brazil), production engineering (UFAM, Brazil), and shipping business (HSBA, Germany). I am now based in Bergen, Norway, where I'm pursuing a PhD (2020-2024) at the Norwegian School of Economics (NHH). I am also associated with SNF, the Center for Applied Research at NHH.

My work tracks how shipping firms and investors are navigating the energy transition. More specifically, I investigate the connections between sustainability performance, asset prices, ownership structure, financial performance, and corporate discourse. Additionally, I'm interested in alternative fuels, particularly LNG and biofuels.
