I am Pablo Hidalgo Palencia, a postdoc at the Universitat de Barcelona, mentored by Xavier Ros-Oton.
Previously, I did my PhD at Instituto de Ciencias Matemáticas (ICMAT) in Madrid, under the supervision of José María Martell, and also mentored by Alberto Enciso.
My current research is focused on Free Boundary Problems, of local and nonlocal nature. And also on the intersection between Partial Differential Equations, Harmonic Analysis and Geometric Measure Theory.
Generally speaking, I try to establish relationships between good properties of (elliptic and parabolic) PDE and good geometrical properties of the domains they are solved in.
This requires working in very general/rough domains, well beyond the well-known classical theory, hence the need of Harmonic Analysis and Geometric Measure Theory to provide us with tools to work in such unfriendly domains.
