Keynote talks
- Tal Cohen (MIT, USA) - Growth, instability, and failure: bringing order into the chaos of natural phenomena
- Luis Cueto-Felgueroso (U Politecnica de Madrid, Spain) - Wetting, hysteresis and phase transitions in multiphase flow through permeable media: insights from modeling
- Xiaojing (Ruby) Fu (UC Berkeley, USA) - Instabilities and Phase Transitions in Multiphase Flow through Porous Media-- a story told by gas hydrates
- Tobias Keller (U Glasgow, UK) - Modelling magma transport with rock failure: the effective-viscosity approach
- Ludovic Pauchard (CNRS–University Paris Sud, France) - Mechanical instabilities induced by drying complex fluids
Abstracts can be accessed here.
The workshop intends to bring together researchers across disciplines to discuss methods and results regarding complex fluids, and to share ideas that could help to move the field(s) forward. The intended schedule is a series of talks over two consecutive afternoons, with the morning between reserved for informal discussions and meetings.
