The Oxford Food Shelf recently participated in Worcester County Food Bank’s annual all-agency meeting, Community & Connections. We heard from new CEO Seana Weaver, learned about what’s new with WCFB - nearly 10 million pounds of food passed through their facility last year! - and networked with amazing people from food pantries across Worcester County. We’re bringing back new ideas to serve our families better. Stay tuned! 

The Oxford Food Shelf thanks our local letter carriers, the community and our volunteers for yesterday’s successful Stamp Out Hunger Food Drive. We collected 2652.5 lb of non-perishable foods! We are grateful for your continued generosity! All the food will be distributed to families in Oxford who need it.

Our volunteers make us who we are! The Oxford Food Shelf is grateful for all the volunteers who work tirelessly to help provide for our neighbors who need help with food each week. Recently we celebrated them - with pizza from P&D Oxford House of Pizza who generously contributed a dozen pies to our annual volunteer appreciation event! - and especially Christina St. Martin, who after many years serving the Oxford Food Shelf, retired from her post as Chairperson of the Oxford Ecumenical Council. Thank you, Chris, for your service. That’s just the beginning - there are many volunteers to thank. We hope you know who you are. We appreciate each and every one of you. We could not do it without you.

Our neighbor in Oxford, Byrnes Real Estate Group, asked its agents to give back in a meaningful way and they delivered, presenting a generous donation to the Oxford Ecumenical Food Shelf. Thank you, all, for thinking of us.

Krista Martin of Family First Adult Foster Care was on hand recently to share information with our families about adult foster care, which provides individuals with disabilities and chronic illnesses the opportunity to live at home. We are grateful to her and her organization for their continued support of the Oxford Food Shelf.

The Oxford Ecumenical Food Shelf, its volunteers and its families, thanks Carl’s Oxford Dinner, 291 Main St. in Oxford, for its recent donation of $6467, resulting from its annual raffle to support the town’s food pantry. The raffle is truly a community effort, with prizes contributed by many local businesses, including gift baskets and gift cards.

Carl’s Oxford Diner’s donation will go a long way toward helping to restock the Food Shelf after a busy holiday season.
