The NCC is encouraging local community groups to take over and groom local Ottawa greenbelt trails in order to reduce overcrowding in existing groomed trails especially during COVID-19. Funding constrains what we are able to do. With your donations, we have been able to expand grooming from Moodie Drive to Carling Ave to connect up with the Britannia Winter Trail network and add other sections like the DND, Christmas Tree, and Water Treatment Loops. We have added pilot trails further south on the GreenbeltPath (TCT) towards Bells Corners and north towards the River in Shirley's Bay. However, increased grooming requires additional grooming equipment, or equipment modifications, and costs for storage, fuel and maintenance, as well as other costs such as for signage and parking solutions. We have options for some other trails too, but they are too narrow for our current grooming equipment and would need some new equipment.

PayPal Donation

Note, that the PayPal account is in Kanata Nordic’s name but all funds will be applied to the OWWT trail. Kanata Nordic Ski Club owns and operates all the grooming equipment used on the OWWT.

You do not need to have a PayPal account for a one-time donation using a credit card. A PayPal account is required if you wish to make a recurring donation.

If you would like to give a sizable ($100 and up) donation and would like to get a tax receipt, please contact us. Otherwise, you may Donate using the Paypal/Credit Card link, or you may donate to our active GoFundMe campaign which will actively show the current donations against our goal, and allow for comments. Neither of these methods will provide a tax receipt; you must contact us for information on an alternate donation method to get a tax receipt ($100 or more donation).

Donate using Paypal or credit card. Thank you.

N.B. The value proposition. Did OWWT provide value to you by reducing visits to Gatineau trails or elsewhere? There is a team of volunteers that donate their time to operate and maintain the trail. We are encouraged to see financial support for our efforts. Donations go directly to operating expenses and equipment maintenance.
