Hi, I'm a theoretical physicist currently working as a postdoc in the Zwicker Group at the Max Planck Institute for Dynamics and Self-Organisation in Göttingen, Germany. I obtained my PhD from the University of Oxford, under the supervision of Professor Chris MacMinn. I am broadly interested in fluid dynamics and soft matter physics, and their application to both biological and geophysical systems. You can find out more about my research by clicking on the images below.
In my current postdoc position, I study different physical mechanisms by which cells are able to control and regulate biomolecular condensates, and how this is related to condensate function. I am particularly interested in the role of elasticity and active chemical reactions on condensate behaviour. During my PhD, I studied the formation of non-wetting cavities in soft porous media, motivated by application to the venting of greenhouse gases from soft sediments and peatlands.
