Owen Clinic Christian Counselors
All of the counselors working at the Owen Clinic are Christian counselors. We approach counseling applying the truth from the Bible and strive to glorify God through the counseling we provide. There are no therapists here that are not Christian counselors. If you are comfortable with Biblical perspective and worldview being a part of your counseling we are prepared to do that.
A lot of cases do not call for a clinician and in that case we look to provide the highest quality counselors and more affordable options. When we reference Christian Counselor we are at the very least referencing a minimum of 45 hours in masters level graduate level training, training in counseling for anxiety, and depression, smooth transition into adulthood, career counseling, and dealing with life issues such as relationship distress, parenting, grief, and adjustment. All of the counselors that work at the Owen Clinic are trained in a minimum of one Cognitive Behavioral Approach. Several of them have training in multiple disciplines including Cognitive Behavioral, Rational Emotive Behavioral, and Dialectical therapy modalities.
All of the Christian counselors here have additional training and certifications, some have training in pastoral care and counseling, consulting, or life coaching. Some are trained in human development, some are certified teachers. Some are licensed ordained ministers.
The Christian Counselors here are insured and follow the AACC code of ethics. Christian Counselors work in conjunction with clinical psychotherapists at the Owen Clinic, but in cases where clinical issues come up referral within the clinic is available. Christian Counselors are not licensed through the state board of health. LPC’s LCSW’s, LMFT’s, PA-C’s, Nurse Practitioners and Medical Doctors are.
