7 Mindsets and Student Success at OVCA
The 7 Mindsets
To Live Your Ultimate Life
The writers of "The 7 Mindsets," Scott Shickler & Jeff Waller created the "The 7 Mindsets" based on the belief that in order for people to gain ultimate success and happiness they simply have to change their mindset. They explain that, "The 7 Mindsets are based on a three year research effort that began with the simple question: What do the world’s happiest and most successful people have in common? In search of the answer, we studied many of the happiest and most successful people who’ve ever lived. We reviewed the most extensive and important studies on personal achievement ever conducted. And we personally interviewed 400 leading experts, some of the most successful men and women of the 20th and 21st centuries."
They go on to explain what their extensive research revealed, "a set of seven mental habits foundational to an enriched life. The 7 Mindsets are a comprehensive blueprint for happiness, intentionality and success, written in simple, powerful language to teach and activate success strategies for people to live the lives of their dreams..."
OVCA has adopted the 7 Mindset curriculum and are proud to share it with our staff, LC's, and students. We encourage you to explore our site and stay up-to-date with the latest news and resources our team shares with you! To read the full Parent Introductory Newsletter, click here.

I have a Bachelor’s Degree in Special Education and a Master’s Degree in School Counseling both from the University of Central Oklahoma. This is my third year with OVCA, and I love meeting all of our unique and talented students! I have been in education for nine years, and I can't imagine a more fulfilling career. I have two daughters, 21 and 10 years-old, and a 2 year-old son. We have a dog named Brea, two crazy kitties BeBe and Angel, and one betta fish called Bo. My favorite activities are hanging with my family outdoors, being at the lake (or any body of water), kayaking, and listening to mystery podcasts.
