Outlook express itself can not be installed in Windows 7. But if you have Windows 7 Professional, you can run windows XP mode, and then install OE from there. Once installed there is an option to link XP mode apps from the Win 7 start menu, but its not exactly a fast startup (for the app) as the Virtual emulator has to boot up in the background first.Alternatively, some ZT users have downgraded their Windows 7 license to XP.

The real issue with the import is outlook express must be installed and functional on the computer that you try to do the import from. You appear to be posting from a windows 10 device, so I must raise the issue I think. The same goes for outlook.

I still use a Windows 2000 laptop to do presentations in college and I want to setup the built in e-mail client Outlook Express 6 for easy file transfer of small files over WiFi to my laptop. I can't get it to work. If I use IMAP, it says it can't synchronize the folders, but it doesn't give an error code to work with. If I use POP3, I get the error code 0x800ccc0f. I haven't even got far enough to test SMTP yet. I have tried fiddling with the settings a lot, but I can't get it to work. I'm using a @msn.com e-mail address, so I used the settings of outlook.com which work fine on my Linux PC at home. Does anyone know how to get Outlook Express 6 to work in 2022? Thanks in advance!

I don't think it's possible at all considering changes to SSL and TLS encryption over the years and retirement of older versions...

If transferring files is all you need why are you not using built-in windows networking?

Old school FTP might also be easier and faster to setup.

Cheers,

Jim

Jim's Modems: RE: Printing Draft messages from Outlook Express disconockerated (TechnicalUser)8 Jan 01 15:58On the outlook express tool bar click> view> layout, check preview pane box. Next save the email in the drafts folder, highlight said folder, click on the email you wish to print, click> print.

This should solve your problem.

Some more info from microsoft.

RE: Printing Draft messages from Outlook Express disconockerated (TechnicalUser)8 Jan 01 16:00re click> print....should read click> file > print. (or ctrl+p) RE: Printing Draft messages from Outlook Express Sensibilium (Programmer)(OP)9 Jan 01 06:22Won't work...

If I want to print a New Message that hasn't been sent (even with the Preview Pane open), the Print... option in the File menu of the message is still ghosted... However, when the preview pane is displayed, and the message is saved in the Drafts folder, as long as the message is selected the File > Print option in the Outlook Menu IS available, but not when the message is opened and the Messages menu is used... Ridiculous state of affairs...

I refuse to keep the preview pane working as it allows script worms/viruses to run - not acceptable...

Copy & Paste to Notepad? No good if you want the e-mail addresses listed and the subject header. Plus it's a bit of a long winded process (without mentioning the formatting issues involved with Notepad!).

According to the Microsoft KnowledgeBase Article this problem was fixed in Outlook 5.5 - 'Wrong again Microsoft', I have the very latest release of 5.5 and it don't work in mine...

On my machine, if I left click the message to highlight it,

then right click the hightlighted line, the system offers the choice to print it.

Hope this helps. RE: Printing Draft messages from Outlook Express Sensibilium (Programmer)(OP)9 Jan 01 08:29Nope. That don't work either...

Jim's Modems: RE: Printing Draft messages from Outlook Express disconockerated (TechnicalUser)9 Jan 01 17:07Agree with your comments on keeping info pane open, however as far as I can see this is the only fix. Best advice is to follow comtechs' advice an change to another program.....

RE: Printing Draft messages from Outlook Express Sensibilium (Programmer)(OP)12 Jan 01 05:59I have tried Pegasus mail and it's just awful...

As for Eudora, does it support multiple POP3 accounts?

Problem is, is that I have 4 other users, and they all use Outlook Express (after about 6 months they still don't properly understand it), and the last thing they want to do is learn another new program.

Hell, it's hard enough teaching them how to use Windows Explorer, never mind anything else! My users are so useless that they will look for a file thru Word, not be able to find it, and not even realise the file they are looking for is an Excel file! They won't bother using Find Files or Folders, they just give up and ask me to find it for them!

Not what a systems administrator wants!

Note: They have been on training courses for Windows, Word, Excel, Sage Line 50, Outlook, etc., but they forget everything they learnt in the space of 1 day!

So changing software is not exactly the answer for me, sorry...

Is this a new thing for shopify? I set up my email to work with outlook on my other computer not too long ago. Now I have a new computer and trying to do it again and can't figure it out. Why did shopify stop the email hosting service it previously provided?

i have tried to select outlook express on the ie7 properties and does not appear outlook express

have unistall and re installed many times and still does not get back the outlook express and i need it to recover the old mails saved on my other hard drive on this pc, for some reason when the xp and ie was installed on this pc it did not installed the oe. what can i do to install it back?

No matter what I do, outlook express claims to export all my messages, but I lose over 1,000 of them when the import is done. This method is shit and doesn't solve the problem of outlook express not exporting all the messages. MS is shit.

The innovative technology for customizing Outlook views and forms. It is included in all Add-in Express for Office products and can be used to extend Outlook views, e-mail, task and appointment windows, To-Do bar, Reading and Navigation panes with your own custom sub-panes.

A trusted source (thanks, Steve!) has just sent us (among other security organizations) an example of a fake windows update. It claims to be an out-of-cycle security update sent from Microsoft, but redirects to an executable on a site which has, of course, nothing to do with Microsoft, and which ESET products detect as Win32/Injector.ACX. 2351a5e196
