Welcome to the Light the Way Campaign.

Hayshire United Church of Christ’s 60 foot, illuminated cross shone as a beacon in the immediate neighborhood and beyond when it was erected in 1956. Eventually, the cross fell into disrepair, and it has been many years since it has been lit. But Hayshire’s light has never gone out. We have remained a passionate, vibrant, and welcoming congregation who shines God’s love and light on the community and beyond. In September, we celebrated 60 years of ministry. We demonstrate our faith by caring deeply about relationships within the church, and also about our commitment to the wider community.

At the congregational meeting on November 20th, a two-phase capital improvement project was approved to refurbish and relight the cross; and to erect an electronic sign/monument. It is with this goal in mind, that we kick-off a mini campaign that will enable us to achieve this vision. Phase One of the project strives to raise $14,000 to cover the cost of refurbishing and relighting the cross. Any monies raised in excess of the goal will be used for the second phase of the project.

We ask that you give prayerful consideration as to how you can assist in making this project a success. Your support is of great importance as we take this next step together as a congregation.

We view this project as much more than just the physical relighting of the cross. In 2017, we will have the opportunity to illuminate, reflect, and shine the love of Christ through our presence in the community. Together we can Light the Way. This is Our Year to Shine.
