Read articles about teaching experiences and get an idea!
For as long as being a teacher in my whole life, I have to admit that teaching is very challenging to me. For the first time, I even watched some tutorials on how to teach. However, the reality was more cruel! It turned out that there was a huge difference between teaching and what is said in a theory.
Teaching is not only about transferring knowledge--as written in books. First, I have to know the students or the learners. Young learners have different needs and demand different styles of learning to those of adult learners. Second, I must know what the strategy or method I should apply. Even for learners at the same age, I have to apply different approaches when teaching. Last, the material itself.
In my experience, teaching young learners is really different than teaching adult learners. Young learners usually have a good spirit, and this also affect me as the teacher as well. They enthusiasm keeps my spirit up. On the other hand, adult learners seem a little bit less lively. When I teach young learners, they usually ask if we can play games or some activities before lesson. However, this doesn’t apply and for adult learners.
Sometimes I must work harder to get the point about teaching because it is the key to a successful teaching--that is, treat them well.
Pick up some methods needs a workaround as well. I’m not expert of teaching, but I keep learning by doing. To me, that's the key to mastering teaching.
The last but not least is material. Selecting the right materials is a necessary component in teaching. Learning some sources will yield a lot of ideas in preparing materials. You can develop or expand the idea after you get the points.
Those are some points to which I stick as a teacher. Keep spreading out the knowledge to everyone out there.
