A resident of the Department of Surgery has passed the Philippine Board of Surgery diplomate examination.
Dr. Corine Gaddi has successfully passed Written Examination Part One that was held last May 18, proving the excellent training ground that the Ospital ng Maynila Medical Center provides to its residents.

OMMC RESIDENTS HAUL 40 AWARDS IN LOCAL AND INTERNATIONAL CONTESTS
The Ospital ng Maynila Medical Center continues to solidify its position on being an excellent training ground for medical residents.
This after a total of 40 awards were bagged last year from both local and international competitions by those having their residency trainings in the hospital
The big chunk of awards came from both the In-Service Examination and the poster presentation with 15 awards each.
Bringing pride for the In-Service Examination are the Department of Emergency Medicine, Department of Pathology, and the Department of Anesthesiology.
Residents from the Department of Pediatrics, Department of Ophthalmology, and Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology were the ones gained the 15 awards for the poster presentation.
For the Quiz Bee contest, a total of six recognitions were brought by medical residents from the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology, Department of Internal Medicine, Department of Pediatrics, and the Department of Surgery.
Lastly, the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology, Department of Internal Medicine, and the Department of Pediatrics made four publication awards.
The OMMC remains to its commitment in providing world-class medical residency trainings by shaping its doctors through excellence and clinical mastery within its four corners.
DEPARTMENT OF PEDIATRICS BAGS AWARDS IN A NATIONAL CONVENTION
The Department of Pediatrics won awards during an nationwide convention for pediatricians held in Quezon City.
Dr. Selina Fernandez bagged the second place during the Philippine Society of Pediatric Cardiology Inc Original Research Paper Contest held at Novotel Hotel in Cubao.
Her research paper, co-authored with Dr. Sheila Eleanor Yap and Dr. Jennie Wong, focuses on the profile and outcomes of pediatric patients with acute rheumatic fever and rheumatic heart disease.
Apart from Dr. Fernandez, Dr. Aya Fernando also won third place in the same category.
Dr. Fernando's research meanwhile focuses on the profile and outcomes of pediatric patients with subclinical carditis in a tertiary hospital in the City of Manila.
It was co-authored by Dr. Sheila Eleanor Yap, Dr. Jennie Wong, and Dr. Kris Ian Mendoza.
The awarding ceremony was made during the 33rd Annual Meeting of the Philippine Society of Pediatric Cardiology and the 2nd Philippine Congress on Kawasaki Disease, Rheumatic Fever, and Rheumatic Heart Disease.
